Kanye West’s 15 Most Outrageous Rants

via:www.3news.co.nz

Rapper Kanye West is one of the most innovative rappers of our time; he is truthful and always willing to push our buttons when it comes to music. West is also always willing to speak on things that others may refuse to comment on, he is willing to go to new heights for entertainment purposes and he is willing to stand for what he believes in. All these qualities can be good to have; however, when the power of confidence falls in the wrong hands, it can turn from good to bad in a split second, and this is the case with “the greatest rapper of all time”. While no one is disputing that Kanye is a great rapper (not even himself), he has a way of turning people off of his “genius”. This is nothing new. In fact, truth be told, Kanye’s rants and outrageous comments have been going on for a long time; it is only now that people are beginning to take notice of his loudly voiced opinions. West will rant about anything from leather jogging to what Kim wears; although, as much as fans, haters and everyone in between claim to be annoyed, they jump at the chance to re-Tweet, share and like what Mr. West has to offer. As cocky as he is, one has to admit it’s easy to get sucked into his world.

15. Things That Black People And White People Do

“There’s certain things that black people are the best at and certain things that white people are the best at. Whatever we as black people are the best at, I’m a go get that. Like, on Christmas I don’t want any food that tastes white. And when I go to purchase a house, I don’t want my credit to look black.”

This must be Kanye’s take on social classism… even though the quote comes off as rather questionable, he kind of has a point but, the way he went about getting that point across is what has got people’s head spinning. First it came off as really random and very confusing, and second he was in such an aggressive state when he said it, people assumed that it was meant to be negative. Poor Kanye he is just so misunderstood sometimes.

14. Dressing Kim

“I have to dress Kim everyday so she doesn’t embarrass me”.

How discouraging it must be to be Kanye West’s wife. Not only did he give Kim Kardashian a whole new wardrobe, but now he has picked out which clothes she can wear from that wardrobe? Is Kanye that worried about the physical image of those around him? Yes, he is a fashion mogul and yes, he apparently has the style sense of a god; however, it is still pretty awkward to read a comment of him bashing his trophy wife in the media. Really makes us wonder if this is how their relationship works.

13. Fur Pillows

“Fur pillows are hard to actually sleep on.”

Oh poor poor Kanye, those fur pillows just won’t do for him. As of lately, Kanye just has not been able to appeal to the masses. Not many people can understand the horrors of having to sleep on those retched fur pillows. Someone should suggest cotton for him. This comment came to light in 2013 after Kanye decided to grace us with his Twitter presence one last time before he deleted his account; his comment about fur pillows definitely struck a chord with his followers, who assumed he was back for good. However, they learned quickly that this was not the case; what a way to go out Kanye.

12. Best New Artist

“I was robbed”

In 2004 Kanye West was nominated in the Best New Artist category at the American Music Awards; up against some great acts, West lost out to country singer Gretchen Wilson and let’s just say, all hell broke loose. Kanye went out of his way to make sure that everyone who would listen knew that he was “robbed”. In a press conference held after the awards, Kanye gave appreciation to all the artist he had the privilege of watching perform and tried to sneak in a subpar apology that turned into a rant about black people, rap music and Denzel Washington. He’s clever; we have to at least give him that.

11. Non-Reader Of Books

“Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed. I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book’s autograph. I am a proud nonreader of books.”

Proud non-reader of books… let’s soak that in for one minute. This is not the last time that Mr. West has proclaimed his hatred for books; however, this is the first time that someone has used this tactic to sell their own book. Kanye stated this gem of a comment during a small book tour to promote Thank You and You’re Welcome, a book that is a mere 52-pages and offers you a variety of  Kanye-ism. This book also offers you a few blank pages and some great quotes from Kanye himself, like “I hate the word hate”.

10. Kanye West Vs. Jimmy Kimmel

“Jimmy Kimmel put yourself in my shoes … Oh no that would mean you would have gotten too much good pu**y in your life.”

In 2013, Jimmy Kimmel started a feud that he will live to regret. Kimmel, being the funny man that he is, ran a spoof video of Kanye West and let’s just say, West was really not impressed. He took to Twitter to stress his aggravation for “media mother*****” like Kimmel which included a bevy of verbally abusive Tweets and personal attacks about Kimmel’s then girlfriend, Sarah Silverman. Kimmel definitely came out on top by making a joke about finally being involved in a rap feud.

9. Bonnaroo Boo

One of the biggest music festivals in the world had the privilege of being the audience to a Kanye rant, as opposed to the musical performance that they were actually there for. After some technical difficulties that pushed Kanye’s set back by 20 minutes, when Mr. West hit the stage, he decided to brag about how awesome he is, compare himself to greats like Shakespeare and bash the media for basically everything. The audience quickly got bored and annoyed as they bursted into a mixture of screams, heavy boo’s and a chant screaming “f*** Kanye”.  This could have been avoided by a simple apology, Kanye.

8. Kanye’s Mind

“Visiting my mind is like visiting the Hermès factory. Sh*t is real.”

We all know how Kanye feels about fashion. The deeper he dives into the fashion world, the more arrogant he seems to become. So arrogant that he now claims that his mind is like visiting a Hermes factory. How does he come up with this stuff? In 2013 during an interview with W magazine, West spoke about his experiences during Paris fashion week, Kim’s new style that he “gave” her and how fashion week inspired his latest album Yeezus. Kanye then randomly ended the interview stating; “Visiting my mind is like visiting the Hermes factory. Shit is real. You’re not going to find a chink. It’s 100,000 percent Jimi Hendrix.” What does it all mean?

7. Hurricane Katrina Meltdown

“George Bush doesn’t care about black people”

In 2010, Kanye West chose the worst time to stage an attack on then President of the United States George Bush. During a hurricane Katrina relief telethon, West veered off script to randomly tell us that George Bush doesn’t care about black people. While many people eventually agreed with him, West’s comments came at the worst time (during a live television production) and it completely shocked his co-host Mike Myers, who is an experienced comedian and not even he could provide the audience with a quick enough come back. Awkward silence ran through the building and West, as usual, stood there with a stone cold face.

6. B+

“What’s a B+ mean? I’m an extremist, its either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, f–k you and the whole f–king staff!”

via:en.wikipedia.org

via:en.wikipedia.org

Entertainment Weekly magazine got a run for their money when they critiqued and graded Kanye’s Seattle show of his Glow in the Dark tour; stating that the tour was worthy of a measly B+. West passed by Twitter this time around, and wrote a whole blog bashing the critic, cursing out the rest of the staff and stating that a B+ means nothing to an extremist like himself. The blog is pretty intense and included a lot of swear words; read at your own will.

5. Lanvin Workout

“I jog in Lanvin.”

Okay guys, Kanye wants you to know that he works out in designer duds. In 2010, this very random Tweet came after no one had heard a word from the rapper in a while; it was immediately favorite by several Kanye starved fans and re-Tweeted over and over and over again. Kanye was feeling extra chatty that night, also Tweeting out gems like “is this Versace sofa too hood? Might need to cover it in plastic!!!” and “Dating models I had to learn to like small dogs and cigarettes”. Everything is always so random, yet so entertaining for some reason.

4. The Rap Game

“I don’t even listen to rap. My apartment is too nice to listen to rap in.”

Wait a second, you’re a rapper who does not listen to rap? This is an interesting concept. Kanye has definitely evolved over the years; maybe his evolution has changed his taste in music, let’s just give him the benefit of the doubt. Apparently the point Kanye was trying to make was that he makes rap music, so he doesn’t want to listen to it on his free time. He described it like this; “If somebody works at Starbucks, they don’t drink coffee at the crib.” although his idea sort of makes sense, it just sounds so ignorant.

3. Louis Vuitton Don

“Martin Louis the King Jr”

This unique quote came from a video of Kanye describing his new shoes designed with Louis Vuitton, he believed that his shoes were so “fly” that he had to change his name to “Martin Louis the King Jr”. He went on to say that he would like to be addressed this way from now on, while he stuns with his red bottoms and swaggering with his hundred million trillion; whatever that means. How insanely confident does one have to be to name themselves after a civil rights leader and a billion dollar retail company? Please wake up Mr. West.

2. The Man-Made Disease

“AIDS was a “man-made disease” that was “placed in Africa just like crack was placed in the black community to break up the Black Panthers.”

via:www.youtube.com

via:www.youtube.com

Tales of an angry black man; Kanye is not the first person to mention something like this; however, because of his past outbursts and rants, it is hard to take him seriously when talking about a topic such as this one. What makes this quote hard to swallow is where he decided to bring it up. We all know by now that Kanye has the worst timing, so the 2005 Live Aid concert was certainly not the best time to start placing blame on where AIDS came from and who was responsible for it.

1. The Leather Jogging Pant

“We brought the leather jogging pants six years ago to Fendi, and they said, ‘No.’ How many m***erf***ers you done seen with a jogging pant?”

via:imgarcade.com

Fashionista Kanye always claims to be ahead of his time when it comes to fashion, so it was no different when he made his comment about the now super popular leather jogging pant. There is no doubt that someone as unique and outgoing as West could come out with such a clever design, but to be so angry that he wasn’t the one to make it as popular as it is today, is a bit crazy. During this now infamous interview with Zane Lowe, West also went on to say that he was giving designs to Fendi over and over again, only to get knocked down. He is kind of right, look how many people are wearing the leather jogging pants now.
