Imax Selling $2 Million Home Theater Setups

IMAX has a new impressive offer for your home theater setups.

“We saw a big gaping hole in the opportunity to provide a superlative experience in the home,” says Brian Bonnick, IMAX’s chief technology officer. Film buffs only need $2 million to achieve such an offer.

The new system includes a 3D-capable wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screen that projects the image onto a curved screen, a multi-channel sound system, a 4K-resolution dual projection system with both 2D and 3D formats and an audio system featuring laser-aligned 7.1-channel loudspeakers.

IMAX also plans to incorporate “day of release” capability from Prima Cinema, the Carlsbad, Calif., startup that delivers movies directly at your home for $500 each, says IMAX Chief Executive Officer Rich Gelfond.

It is reported that IMAX worked with interior designers and architects to make sure they offer the best home theater system.  The company also monitors the system as it is running and will respond immediately upon receiving complaints.

IMAX home theater will be firstly installed later this year in a Miami Beach home built by South American cable television executive Ahmad Lee Kamsi.

Stars such as Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlene are planning to adapt the new IMAX System.
