The Emmy award winning show, which has been on air for 20 years, has been extended for two more years, and David Letterman has been signed on until 2015. Although the show has seen its ups and downs over the past few years, and the Leno and Letterman war that took place a few years ago is still recent history, CBS was noted as saying there is only one Letterman, and they are willing to pay the price tag for him.
In addition to being extended for two more years, Letterman is also set to earn a reported $90 million, for the two years that he is going to be signed on for. Not only does he get to keep his prime time slot, and his loyal fan base that has been built up over the years, he is also going to get a huge contract extension, which few ,if any other, late night (and TV) hosts receive.
