Channing Tatum confirmed that his stripper movie Magic Mike is up for a musical transformation and is heading to Broadway.
Magic Mike is about a professional stripper (played by Tatum) who works in a Dallas club owned by another veteran stripper (played by Matthew McConaughey). In the club, Mike teaches a rookie (played by Alex Pettyfer) to become one of them.
As stated on Tatum's official website: “The show will be produced by Channing Tatum and his partner Reid Carolin, along with the film’s director Steven Soderbergh and co-producers Gregory Jacobs and Nick Wechsler. Songs will be written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, the creators of other Tony and Pulitzer-winning Broadway hits like ‘Next To Normal,’ and the book will be written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.”
Tatum received applause from critics with his expert delivery of his roles, revealing earlier that he was a male dancer at 19 in Tampa, Florida. Recently, Tatum also revealed that he is on the works for the second installment of the 2012 flick.
So brace yourselves as this is going to be a spectacular show, with dancing hot men showing some skin and sizzling opening numbers when the curtains open on Broadway.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old actor is set to serve as the voice behind Superman in the upcoming movie The Lego Movie.
Tatum, who enjoys a net worth of $50 million, is an actor, producer, dancer and model who is known for his films such as Step Up, Dear John, and The Eagle.
