Cameron Diaz is trying her luck again at producing.
Cameron played the lead role in the 2011 Columbia Pictures comedy film Bad Teacher. For its series adaptation, the actress signed with CBS’ Bad Teacher as its producer and is expected to earn $40 million. Bad Teacher grossed $216 million worldwide and Cameron has earned $42 million from it.
The 41-year-old actress is set to reunite with the series’ executive producers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg who were also the movie’s writers. Diaz played the role of a trophy wife who ended up penniless after her husband abandoned her. She masquerades as a teacher in order to find the right man for her.
The series, which is directed by Jake Kasdan, has 13 episodes and will premiere in mid-season.
Cameron, who is worth $90 million, is working on her next project such as The Counselor, Sex Tape, and The Other Woman and Annie. CBS is also contemplating on producing the sequel of the movie, Bad Teacher 2.
Her first stint in producing was in 2004 with Trippin, a 10-episode environmental adventure series for MTV.
