6 Of The Most Embarrassing Unrequited Celebrity Love Stories

At one point of another, most of us have had crushes on famous celebrities. Although we dreamed of running into them on the streets of NYC, or scoring backstage passes to their concerts (where they would undoubtedly fall in love with us), the chances of actually meeting them were slim to none.

Us regular folks aren't the only ones who wish certain celebrities would return our affections. Some musicians and actors only dream of having a chance with each other, too. If you've ever wanted to get with superstar Beyonce or rap artist Drake, then you have something in common with the people on this list. Although these celebrities may have met, or even hooked up with their love interest, to their disappointment, they were turned down in the end. Take a look at these stars whose obsession with another celeb went unreturned.

6 Amanda Bynes and Drake

Amanda Bynes used be thought of as a good girl, who grew to fame with The Amanda Show and went on to act in movies like Hairspray and She's The Man. The 28-year-old recently went off to the deep end, and among other oddities, she revealed her strange obsession for rapper Drake. Last July, she tweeted, "Drake is the most gorgeous man on the face of the Earth." She also infamously tweeted, "I want Drake to murder my vagina."

Drake commented on the tweets, telling XXL, "It's a little weird and disturbing." Plus, just a few days ago, Drake posted an Instagram photo of himself and Brandie Prince, calling her "my boo." Better luck next time, Amanda!

5 Mychal Kendricks and Rihanna

In late 2013, Rihanna posted a photo of NFL Eagles linebacker, Mychal Kendricks on her Instagram as her "man crush Monday." Kendricks took the flirtatious post a little too seriously, however, thinking Rihanna was hoping to actually hook up with him.

Kendricks appeared on BET's 106 & Park and, looking disappointed, said, "We have not been in contact. Nothing has changed." He went on to say, "If she sees this then... hey." Later, he tried to send out another message to Rihanna. He said, "Hi Rih, I am in New York." Rihanna hasn't gotten in contact with Kendricks, despite her #MCM. It does seem as if the innocent post made Kendricks fall in love with her, though.

4 Joe Budden and Tahiry Jose

Recording artist, Joe Budden actually dated Tahiry Jose, however, he soon found out that he took the relationship a lot more seriously than she did. Budden proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of Times Square with the reality show, Love & Hip Hop recording the whole thing. He got down on one knee and said, "I said to you that I want my words to match my actions. That was incomplete. I want my actions to match my feelings. I want the ties that bind us together to always be stronger than those that tear us apart. I love you. I need you. I don't want to spend another day without you. With that said, Tahiry-my-mom-didn't-give-me-a-middle-name-Jose, will you marry me?"

After his heartfelt speech, with their friends and family and TV viewers watching, Jose turned down the proposal. She told him, "Love is trust. And I don't trust you right now. I can't believe you. One day you're good. One day you're bad. One day there's foundation on my pillow cases. One day you have a ring. How am I supposed to believe you?" Ouch. Maybe Budden will think more carefully before the next time he picks out a ring.

3 Mos Def and Beyonce

Before 'Single Ladies' and way before 'Drunk In Love', Beyonce was starring in Carmen: A Hip Hopera. The 2001 musical movie never became critically acclaimed, but one of Beyonce's co-stars, Mos Def, still saw something in her on set. It's rumored that the two may have had a fling, but Beyonce was never in love with Mos Def the way he was with her. At the time that the film came out, Beyonce was only 20 years old and had little experience with men.

Now that she's hitched with Jay Z, Mos Def must be kicking himself. Beyonce even hinted that her husband is the only man she's slept with. She said, "People would be surprised as to the lack of experiences I've had. When I was 12, 13, I had my first boyfriend, and he was my boyfriend till I was 17. At that age, that was a long time. I've always been very loyal and a little more mature. Though I was too young for it to really be a boyfriend – we didn't live together, we didn't, you know . . . That was my only experience with a guy, and since then, I've only had one other boyfriend in my life – Jay.”

2 50 Cent and Chelsea Handler

50 Cent's infatuation with Chelsea Handler all started when he came on her talk show, Chelsea Lately. Handler admits that she flirts with cute guys on her show, and 50 Cent was no exception. He took it a little too seriously, though, and started calling her, even sending 50 white roses to her office. Handler said his pursuit of her was "laughable." But eventually, she met up with him in Nashville. They hooked up for a few months before Handler dumped him in the meanest way possible.

Handler admitted on Howard Stern's morning show, "I think I called him the worst thing you could say to a black person short of calling him the N-word. I said something like you’re like a street person basically. Something along the lines of being a gangster, and it was really, really offensive and I hung up and I’ve never spoken to him again."

1 Aaron Carter and Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff and Aaron Carter dated from 2000 to 2003, but now he wants her back and she's not having any of it. A few months ago, Carter tweeted a picture of Duff and said, "Don't be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me… I'll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don't care what ANY of you think." Duff, who is now a mother, was asked what she thought about Carter's tweet about her at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. She commented, "I don't have an answer to that."

However, when Carter was asked to further explain his tweets, he said "That wasn't meant for the media or anybody like that—I didn't think about it really. I wasn't really looking for [a response] either. I'm sure [Duff] got the message." Carter also confirmed that he is "absolutely" still in love with her.
