14 Of The Most Humiliating Things That Celebs Have Said

Making a fool of one’s self seems to come with the territory when you enter into the world of stardom. The introduction of social media and furthermore, celebrities who have control over their own social media, has only made the situation worse. Celebrities rely a whole lot on their glam squad. This can include anyone from a makeup artist to an on call publicist, so why, oh why, do some stars open their mouth and spew out some of the most humiliating comments known to man? Could it be a lack of education? Or maybe it is a lack of filter, while in some cases, it is due to medical issues. However, the best excuse of all is just plain ignorance; humiliating comments and acts can make or break someone’s career, or they can be left in limbo, somewhere in between where you have fans but they expect that every time you open your mouth, something ridiculous will come out of it. Love or hate them, either way, they are giving you something to talk about and keeping their star shining. However obscured, annoying or ludicrous they may seem, these opinions, statements, comments (call em’ what you like) make you fall on the floor laughing. This list is a multitude of excerpts from your favorite celebrities saying meaningless, futile and ridiculously vain things.

14. Arnold Schwarzenegger

“I think that gay marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman.”

Former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger thought it would be a good idea to express his views on gay marriage. The only problem is he doesn’t actually know what it is. Let’s analyze this quote for a moment shall we; gay marriage should be between a man and a woman is that what straight marriage is? So basically, is he saying that gay marriage shouldn’t exist unless it can somehow be transformed into straight marriage? It really makes you think how he became the Governor of one of the most diverse states in the world. Fortunately for us, this isn’t his only confusing and ridiculous comment; he is also quoted on his opinions regarding sex with his wife and riots in relation to gay marriage.

13. Farrah Abraham

“I’m pretty feminine. I think so … What does that mean, you’re a lesbian or something?”

Former teen mom and reality star turned notorious p**n star, Farrah Abraham does not know what it is to be a feminist. According to an interview she did on the red carpet of a club opening, Farrah was asked if she considered herself to be a feminist; she responded by mixing up feminist with feminine, then went on to assume that being feminine meant being “a lesbian or something”. The interview which was posted on The Huffington post went on to be even more hilarious as Abraham tried to recover by saying, “women should have equal rights to me, every day” as if someone was arguing that it should only occur certain days out of the week.

12. Alicia Silverstone

“I think that Clueless was very deep. I think it was deep in the way that it was very light. I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it is true lightness.”

Alicia Silverstone gave her thoughts on how the classic film Clueless, played a fairly big role in influencing society. In fact, she thought it was “very deep” and then “deep in the way that it was light”, wait what? What is Silverstone actually trying to say here? Light? Deep? Places? What on earth is happening? In Silverstone’s defence though, she was young and clueless at that age, you know, clueless as in deep and deepness as in light. What? Seriously, we still don’t understand any of it.

11. Jaden Smith

”School is the tool to brainwash the youth”

Jaden Smith and Willow and some very “out there” kids, definitely are not bogged down by what society thinks of them and clearly educational norms are not very important to them. He thinks schools brainwash youth. What about the questionable religion they follow, Scientology? Some compare it to a modern day cult. This quote is both humiliating and hilarious because his sister Willow, made a similar comment a few years later and admitted that she was flunking out of school and really had no interest in formal education. With influence like that, who wouldn’t want to quit?

10. Rob Ford

“It says that I wanted to eat her p***y. I’ve never said that in my life to her, I would never do that. I’m happily married. I’ve got more than enough to eat at home.”

Once Toronto’s vibrant Mayor, Rob Ford’s reputation quickly went down the drain and on the way down, he was accused by a colleague of wanting to perform inappropriate acts on her. Well, Ford combated this by claiming the “he has enough to eat at home” not only is this comment extremely weird and uncomfortable, it is also very inappropriate and somewhat hilarious (because it’s just so ridiculous). Although, he is certainly used to humiliation, so this comment didn’t affect his reputation too much.

9. Justin Bieber

“Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a Belieber.”

Ridiculous! Musician and new face for Calvin Klein, Justin Bieber has embarrassed himself too many times to count; however, when he took a trip to the Anne Frank Museum, ever the self indulgent, Bieber thought that Anne Frank could benefit from being a “Belieber”. Really? Wasn’t Anne too busy hiding from Nazi’s and trying to salvage whatever life she had left? At least he knows that Anne was a “great girl”. The ignorance behind this comment shows that Bieber isn’t just a silly face, he’s also oblivious to the reality that Anne Frank actually faced.

8. Amanda Bynes

“I want @drake to murder my v*****”

Oh Amanda, what has to be going through your mind when you put the words murder and v***** in the same sentence? Also, how can you Tweet at one of the most popular rappers out there, who actively troll’s Twitter, and say something so erratic? We later learned that Amanda was not in the right frame of mind when she made that (and several other erratic) comments on Twitter and other social media platforms. Yet, it was still humiliating for her and made people turn their heads. On the bright side, he did gain a lot of Twitter followers from it.

7. Reese Witherspoon

“I’m an American Citizen”

Actress Reese Witherspoon must have thought that being an American Citizen made her immune to getting arrested for drinking and driving. This comment shined a whole new light on America’s sweetheart when she had an encounter with a police officer and a dash cam. This comment is bordering embarrassment; was it that she was too intoxicated to know that Americans can get arrested for a DWI? Or was it that she just wanted the world to know that she, Mrs. Reese Witherspoon, mother of three, is an “American Citizen”. We will never know because she is so loved and it basically slid off her record after a few days.

6. Mariah Carey

“Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world I can’t help but cry. I mean I’d love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff.”

Pop star Mariah Carey could go down in history for making such an ignorant comment about starving children and their parents in Africa. According to the bling pop star, she feels bad for those poor kids because they just couldn’t lose weight the normal way. She speaks of their death like it is some kind of choice and she thinks the flies on their face are something they want. How is this even real? Can she get anymore uninformed about what their reality is? Hopefully, now that she is the mother of twins, she has better knowledge of the world outside of her luxurious life.

5. Britney Spears

“I get to go to a lot of overseas places like Canada”

This should be evidence enough that Britney Spears did not graduate from high school, so don’t let her tell ya’ll any different. When in the world has Canada, America’s neighbor, been considered overseas? Spears’ has had several flubs over the years, like her lip synching debacle, or the famous quote about Japan (“I’ve never really wanted to go to Japan. Simply because I don’t like eating fish. And I know that’s very popular out there in Africa.”). However, this one is one of the more shocking statements that she has made. It went viral quickly and it will forever haunt her.

4. Christina Aguilera

“Where is the Cannes film festival being held this year?”

It is safe to say that Musician Christina Aguilera, is not so great with geography or film festivals for that matter. The popular Cannes film festival happens every year in the same place for well over 30 years. What makes this comment so humiliating for Christina is the fact that she actually said Cannes in her question. Not only is this embarrassing, but it’s also redundant. Luckily for Christina, it wasn’t as wide spread as her counterpart Britney’s comments on geography (please see entry #5), but unfortunately it was just as unintelligent.

3. Mike Tyson

“I guess I’m just gonna fade into Bolivian”

When boxers make unintelligent comments…. that should be the name of maybe a book or a television show, starring ear-biting boxer Mike Tyson. In case you didn’t see what he did here, Tyson mixed up Bolivian with oblivion; two completely different things. One is a race of people and the other is a word loosely defined as being unaware of one’s surrounding. This is funny since Tyson is so “oblivious” to what Bolivian is. However, there is a possibility that he has just taken one too many blows to the head. We’ll probably never know.

2. Kanye West

“I hate when I’m on a flight and I wake up with a water bottle next to me like oh great now I gotta be responsible for this water bottle.”

This is a prime example of rapper Kanye West’s take on the excessive responsibilities in his life. Not only is this a hilarious comment, it is also random when you consider the context that it was said in. Kanye randomly Tweeted this little gem without any prompts and no explanation whatsoever. This comes as no surprise, since many things that Kanye does comes as unprovoked and random. Don’t hold your breath though, if you are waiting for any kind of explanation, you probably won’t get one in this life time.

1. Kim Kardashian

“My dad. Or Jesus. Or Marilyn Monroe. I can’t decide,”

Self-professed queen of the selfie and Kanye West’s wife/baby mama, Kim Kardashian was asked who her ultimate selfie partner was and she named three people; one of whom was Jesus himself, you know the big guy up above that people pray to. Yes, that Jesus. Now Kim has wished for questionable things before, but this one surely takes the cake. The only thing that saves this comment from 100% ridiculousness is that her first wish was to have a selfie with her deceased father. But it is a bit weird to want a selfie with two other dead people, who wouldn’t even know what a selfie is.
