13 Of The Most Unoriginal Copy Cat Celebs In Hollywood

There's a fine line between being inspired and being a copy cat, and all of these stars have crossed it. It's not unusual to admire someone's style so much, that you'd like to adopt portions of it for yourself. But if you let yourself get carried away, inspiration can quickly become blatant imitation. Frankly it's an attack on someone's individuality when their personal style is stolen. While most people are more comfortable blending in, few people stand out effortlessly. Most people with a naturally powerful sense of personal style become trendsetters inadvertently. Trendsetters are absolutely fearless when it comes to creative self expression. Their daring attitude and boldness is admired by many, and often imitated, but impossible to duplicate. Good thing the original always stands apart from the copies. As the saying goes, imitation is the highest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness. With that said, here are 13 mediocre attempts at greatness.

13 Beyonce & Kim K Copy Jelena Karleusa

In David and Goliath news, Serbian popstar Jelena Karleusa recently accused American singer Beyonce of imitating her style since 2012. Jelena, who's a self proclaimed Diva, has been a superstar in her native Serbia for the past 20 years, and says Beyonce's 2015 Met Gala gown was a direct rip off of an outfit she wore back in 2013, right down to the pose! Jelena posted several other photos of Beyonce stealing a bunch of her past outfits, weeks after she'd originally worn them, and we've gotta say, the semblance is irrefutable! This isn't the first time Jelena has been swagger jacked. Apparently her personal style sense is so powerful, Kim Kardashian was seen imitating the European singer earlier this year; when she dyed her hair that god-awful peroxide blonde- identical to Jelena's. Jelena posted several more comparison photos on her Instagram, and once again the likeness is undeniable!

12 Hilary Duff Copies Kylie Jenner

Ever since Kylie Jenner lost proper parental supervision sometime last year, the out of control teenager has been poorly influencing many young girls with her inappropriate selfies, and the like. Among the influenced, shockingly is 27 year old Hilary Duff, who is 10 years Kylie's senior. Hilary Duff, a natural blonde her entire career, has never been known to experiment with unnatural hair colors like the recent turquoise she's been seen sporting, months after Kylie popularized the look. The imitation doesn't stop there unfortunately. The Lizzy Maguire star has been caught posing just like the conceited teen (pouty lip and all) earlier this year on Instagram. Seems a little early for a midlife crisis, so we can't quite figure out Hilary's reasoning behind adopting a 17 year old's style.

9 JLo Copies Ariana Grande

Maybe as you get older, you start to run out of ideas. JLo has been around long before Ariana Grande could hit her first high note, but that hasn't stopped Jenny from the block from shamelessly stealing the 21 year old's style. From Ariana's signature high ponytail and hair color, to her 70's inspired stage outfits, the 46 year old Jennifer has adopted them all. Stars, especially the ones who've been around the longest, are typically advised by their PR and management team to keep up with ongoing trends in order to stay relevant. Jennifer's emulation of Ariana grande is perhaps an attempt to stay hip, young and fresh. Especially since the cougar insists on dating men half her age.

8 Naya Rivera Copies Kim K

Glee Star Naya Rivera has been called a Kim K wannabe by the socialite's bff, Jonathan Cheban. In 2014, when Kim broke the internet with her nude Paper Magazine spread, Naya commented by saying, "I normally don't but....You're someone's mother..." Naya was immediately met with a brutal response from Jonathan in the form of a blog post. He writes in the post, "After a year-long tour of impersonating Kim, she decided to come out of her shell and make a real statement about Kim's Paper cover (which has to be one of the hottest, if not the hottest cover all year). As expected, she's getting some press and when all else fails, use Kim. I'm personally disgusted that after badgering Kim all year and trying to hang out and do business together, she goes and tries to make a statement like this. Yes, Kim is a mother, BUT WHO CARES... have you ever heard of a MILF?! Who the f*** is Naya to throw in her meaningless comments?? We all know you want to be Kim, but you don't got it boo, and the only cover you will be gracing is the Single White Female 2 straight to DVD box set." Naya bares an uncanny resemblance to Kim, and in 2013, she even dyed and cut her hair the exact same shade as Kim's blonde style at the time, giving credibility to Jonathan's claim.

7 Farrah Abraham Copies Kim K

Apparently, if Kim Kardashian isn't doing the copying, she's being copied. Farrah Abraham of Teen Mom fame has tried and failed miserably to recreate the Kim Kardashian effect. From filming and releasing her own sex tape, to multiple plastic surgeries in order to morph into the cosmetically enhanced KUWTK star, Farrah is desperate to be the next Kim K. Farrah, who's long been accused of getting surgery to look as close as possible to Kim, denied the rumors by saying, "i've been seeing these ridiculous claims of me trying to be as fake as (KIM K.) ' (.)(.)' hahaha or '(__0__)' boobs or butt count me out on that!" Funny she should use the word fake. The reality TV personality concluded by saying, "if I wanted to look like anyone other then me that would be JASMINE. Princess Jasmine to be exact because I here I look like the real life version of her." Gotta wonder who lied to her about that one.

6 Blac Chyna Copies Kylie Jenner

17 year old Kylie Jenner, who many are calling a homewrecker for causing 25 year old rapper Tyga to leave his baby mama and toddler son, seems to be the inspiration behind Blac Chyna's evolved look lately. Many accuse Blac Chyna of getting the same cosmetic surgeries Kylie underwent to look as close as possible to her ex's new beau. The two have famously been at war on Instagram, using subtle symbolism in strategically taken photographs to communicate to one another. Both Blac Chyna and Kylie looked drastically different before their surgeries, but now they awkwardly share the same doll-like features: big eyes draped with false lashes, over inflated cheekbones and humongous lips. Blac Chyna who turns 27 this year, has been caught posing like the teenager in many of her Instagram shots, and even drives a pink version of Kylie's matte black Mercedes G-Class, which Jenner got first in 2013.

5 Nicki Minaj Copies Lil Kim, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande

Since the onset of her career, Nicki Minaj has been compared to her predecessor Lil Kim, and accused of stealing her rap flow and image styling. Nicki who admitted in the past that Lil Kim is the biggest source of her inspiration, later went on to call Lil Kim a 'has-been' in her 2011 song Stupid H*. The insult came after Lil Kim openly accused Nicki of biting her style on a diss track, resulting in the feud. Shortly afterwards, Nicki was accused of stealing the eccentric Lady Gaga's flamboyance, and over the top ensembles, to which Nicki vehemently denied. Most recently Nicki has been accused by Ariana Grande fans of stealing the young pop star's signature hairstyle. Plenty of photographic comparisons can be found to back up the valid accusations.

4 Lady Gaga Copies Madonna

Ever since she hit the scene in 2008, Lady Gaga has been constantly compared to Madonna, and though she's been vocal about her adoration for the pop legend, Madonna still doesn't appreciate being mimicked. In 2014, Madge released the song Two Steps Behind Me, in which the lyrics are directed at Gaga, which read, "You're a copycat, Where is my royalty? You're a pretty girl, I'll give you that, but stealing my recipe, it's an ugly look. Did you study me hard enough? You're never gonna be, you're just a wannabe me. Like a sister all messed-up, who's gonna help you out? In your fantasy, you can try it all. But you can't be me." Madonna discussed the younger pop star in Rolling Stones magazine earlier this year saying, "The only time I ever criticized Lady Gaga was when I felt like she blatantly ripped off one of my songs," The song in question being Madonna's massive 1989 hit, Express Yourself. The ongoing beef is somewhat puzzling since the two performed a friendly skit on SNL a few years back.

3 Kim K Copies Paris Hilton

By now it's safe to blame Paris Hilton for unleashing the Kardashian clan unto the world, at least partially. Paris was the inspiration behind the sex tape that catapulted Kim K into the spotlight. The Hilton heiress' success after One Night in Paris was released in 2002, led to two reality TV shows deals; The Simple Life, and Paris Hilton's My New Bff. Four  years later in 2006, Kim filmed and released her very own sex tape titled Kim K Superstar, with the intention of landing her own reality television show, like Paris. Genie in a bottle Ryan Seacrest, made Kim's dreams come true when he executive produced Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2008, and Kim's fame has since superseded her former BFF's. Additionally, the sex tape idea she copied also went on to outsell Paris', by millions. If it's any consolation to Paris, whose star no longer shines quite as bright next to Kim's, the Kardashians are now considered one of the most hated families in America.

2 Courtney Stodden Copies Marilyn Monroe

During her time and since her passing, Marilyn Monroe had a long list of imitators. And as time goes on, she'll likely have many more. The most famous of which have been Anna Nicole Smith and most recently, 20 year old Courtney Stodden. The soon-to-be sex tape star became famous for marrying 34 year old actor Doug Hutchison, at the tender of 16, back in 2011. While Courtney frequently vocalizes her idolization of Marilyn and fashions her image in the late screen legend's likeness, the young woman claims she will never actually end up like her for this reason: "I can honestly say that I've never ever EVER been under the influence of drugs, nor have I ever even tried a drug. Thus, I can most positively say that I won't die like Marilyn Monroe or Anna Nicole Smith." In 2014, a scantily clad Courtney was criticized for posing next to the grave sites of Marilyn Monroe, Eva Gabor, and Farrah Fawcett, posting the pics on social media with the caption, "Eva Gabor #blondebombshell #RIP dahhhhling."

1 Ariana Grande Copies Mariah Carey

Ariana Grande, who has proven herself to be a great impressionist; perfectly impersonating Britney Spears in a 2010 YouTube Video and doing an impressive impersonation of Celine Dion on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon earlier this year, has been accused in the past of trying to sound just like Mariah Carey. Loyal Mariah Carey fans have criticized the 21 year old for incorporating Mariah's signature whistle notes into her own music, and have even gone so far as to claim Ariana's entire career is one big Mariah Carey impersonation. When asked about Ariana during an interview with The Breakfast Club Power 105.1 Radio, Mariah responds by saying, “I wish everybody all the best of luck and if this is the career path they choose, hope that they can achieve longevity." Many believe this was her way of "throwing shade," by alluding to the idea that Ariana Grande may become yesterday's news sooner than later.
