10 Of The Most Embarrassing Hip Hop Moments

We all go through embarrassing moments in our lives. Some of these disgraceful episodes are from our own doing and sometimes things just happen that we have no control over. The difference between us and rappers is that the cameras are usually on whenever they encounter a really embarrassing moment. We have to remember too that Hip-Hop also often revolves around being tough and smooth all the time, but even the slickest guys/girls have chinks in their armor.

In the following article, we talk about ten rappers who endured some really cringe-worthy embarrassing moments. For example, you'll read about a certain southern rapper on a red carpet who had his expensive bling'd out watch literally fall apart while the cameras were running. Wow, that's enough embarrassment to cause a minor heart attack - don't you agree? There are also a couple of different entries involving skeletons from the pasts of certain rappers that came back to cause some serious problems for the artists in question. Ultimately no one is perfect, but these are all things we can look at in retrospect and have a really good laugh. Check it out below:

10 Busta Rhymes Falling Off Stage

via: youtube/ bigstockphoto.com

This is the first one we wanted to talk about because it’s the most recent one that happened.  It happened at Webster Hall in NYC a few weeks ago. Rapper OT Genasis was performing his hit viral song “CoCo” when Busta Rhymes surprised the crowd and appeared on stage. He was smoking a big cigar and drinking Hennessey, and he apparently got so caught up in the moment that he took one step too many and fell off stage. He apparently took quite a fall too because he emerged from the ground with a bloody forehead and had to be ushered by security guards backstage. He later sent a tweet out to his fans that he was doing just fine. Thankfully it was mostly his ego that took a bruising.

9 Ace Hood’s Watch Falling Apart

via: blazinstreetz.com

This has to be one of the most embarrassing things that could ever happen to a rapper. We all know how materialistic rappers are and how they are constantly bragging about their jewelry. Well at the 2013 BET Awards, Florida rapper Ace Hood had just finished performing during the pre-show and was being interviewed by Bow Wow and Angela Simmons on the red carpet. He was asked a question about his bling’d out watch and when he went to touch it and show it off, the bezel on the top just fell off. We’re not watch experts, but if your watch is so darn expensive, it really shouldn’t be falling apart during a red carpet interview.

8 Eminem Racist Lyrics

It’s hard to enter the rap game and reach success as a white artist. However Detroit rapper Eminem has been able to prove himself as one of the most iconic rappers ever regardless of his skin color. However his career was definitely in jeopardy at one point when a recording of his leaked in 2003 that had some racist lyrics. The lyrics were: “Blacks and whites they sometimes mix / but black girls only want your money cause they're dumb chicks. On another verse he rapped: ''Don't date a black girl / if you do it once you won't do it twice. He even added ''Black girls are dumb, and white girls are good chicks.''

Of course he had to come out quickly and apologize. He admitted that he made the tape in 1993 when he was 21 and young and stupid. It was a truly embarrassing moment for him but his popularity was able to withstand the controversy.

7 Eve’s Stripper Shots

via: www.complex.com

The rapper Eve is an amazing example of a “rags to riches” story. She went from being a stripper in Philadelphia to being part of the Ruff Ryders rap crew to having her own TV show and even owning a clothing line. She made a successful transition from the hood to Hollywood, but in 2008, pictures leaked on the internet of her performing some pretty lewd sexual acts from her stripper days. There is no doubt at all that the pictures were of her and she never denied it. But she was still able to withstand the controversy and she’s currently married to billionaire Maximillion Cooper, the CEO of Gumball 3000.

6  DJ Khaled Proposing To Nicki Minaj

via: www.mtv.com

In 2013, DJ Khaled released his seventh studio album called Suffering From Success. It was a star-studded event as usual and it had two big singles called “No New Friends” and “I Wanna Be With You.” Before the release of the latter single, Khaled went on MTV and pulled off an elaborate stunt during which he pretended that he was proposing to Nicki Minaj with a huge diamond ring. Among other things, he claimed that he had always been in love with Nicki Minaj and he was ready to make her his wife. Even with Khaled’s track record of being over the top, this faux proposal was extremely cringe-worthy and was uncomfortable for anyone watching it. The single itself featured Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and Future and was a decent radio hit. So all things considered, the hoax worked, but it was an embarrassing affair for everyone involved .

5 Rick Ross Revealed As A Correctional Officer

via: wearemusic.tv

In 2009, Miami rapper was already fully recognized as one of the most hardcore street rappers in the industry. His lyrics were about drug dealing, narcotic trafficking, violence and living the fast life. He also had the image to back up the music; the hulking frame and the uncountable amount of tattoos. But then that same year, pictures leaked on line of a very different looking Rick Ross. He was dressed in a uniform, had a neat haircut and it was apparently a shot of him working as a corrections officer.  He failed to address the situation when it leaked and eventually the paystubs came out showing that he was in fact a C.O. He addressed the issue by saying the following on MTV: “Me not answering or addressing that situation has nothing to do with my career. I’ve accomplished enough, and I’ve made enough money for me to be good. … Yes, it was me in those pictures. But I’mma tell you this. Me taking that job, I was doing my job. You understand what I mean?”

We’re not sure exactly what he means. But with the gangsta image he upholds, it must have been an embarrassing moment for him indeed.

4 Lil Wayne And Birdman Kissing

via: www.bet.com

The Hip-Hop male archetype is very much based on being able to spend a lot money, living the fast life and having tons of beautiful women and video vixens to have sex with. That’s why in 2006, when pictures leaked onto the internet of Brian “Baby” Williams and his artist Lil Wayne kissing each other on the mouth, it caused quite a shock within Hip-Hop circles. Lots of rappers used the images as a chance to ridicule the two New Orleans rappers. When Baby was asked about the authenticity of the pics, this is what he said, “That’s my son, ya heard me. If he was right here, I’d kiss him again. I kiss my daughter, my other son, I mean, you have children? Well, if you did you’d understand what I meant with it. I just think people took that too far man. That’s my son. I’ll do it again tomorrow, I’ll kill for him. Ride and die for him.”

There may be some honesty to what Baby was saying, but the truth of the matter is that Lil Wayne is a grown man and not his young son or daughter, so there are definitely some holes in his logic.

3 Lil Jon’s High School Pics

via: sociedadanimal.foroactivo.com

In Hip-Hop, the King of Crunk title definitely belongs to Lil’ Jon and he’s known for making some of the most energetic party songs around. He also had a great year in 2014 with the release of the hit song “Turn Down For What.” Even the first lady Michelle Obama is a big fan of the song. Lil Jon definitely has the image to match his music – the sunglasses, the big dreadlocks – it’s a look that conveys a crunk image. But he didn’t always look that cool. There are pictures on the internet showing how he looked when he attended high school in Atlanta. There are two words to describe his appearance in those days. Can someone say “Nerd Alert.” Check the picture for yourself above.

2 Lil Mama On Stage

via: forum.prisonplanet.com

Sometimes people get caught up in the moment and end up doing things that they go on to regret later – in a big way.  That’s what happened to pint-sized Brooklyn rapper Lil Mama at the MTV VMA awards in 2009. Jay-Z and Alicia Keys were performing their hit song “Empire State of Mind” and the crowd was completely loving it. For some reason, Lil Mama was so compelled by the ode to her hometown that she decided to rush the stage and be part of the rousing finale of the song. Jay-Z was obviously not comfortable with the situation and after the performance was over, everyone who watched it was thinking the same thing “WTF Just Happened?” For the next several weeks, she had to go on an apology tour to try and explain her actions. Needless to say, it wasn’t her finest moment.

1  The Game On Change Of Heart TV Show

via: www.youtube.com

These days The Game is a gangsta rapper with tattoos on his face, platinum records to his name and lots of street cred to spare. But that wasn’t the case in 2000. He appeared on the game show Change of Heart with his girlfriend at the time named Sadita. He later claimed that he went to the show to test the love between him and his girl to see if she was really into him. The objective of the show is for couples to go on different dates to see if they stay together or have a change of heart. At the end of the show , the 21-yr-old Game decided he wanted to stay together but his girl had a change of heart. One of her criticisms of The Game was: “He has nothing going for himself." It was embarrassing for him then but she’s the one probably feeling like a sucker right now.
