10 Of Our Favorite Celebrity Friendships

Making friends in Hollywood isn’t easy when everybody acts disingenuous around you. Being surrounded by opportunists who are only out to get a piece of your fame and money isn’t hard to find when living in Los Angeles — the city of angels. Good thing some celebs still manage to find sincere friends. The list below features some of the closest bonds that have been formed in Hollywood by our favorite stars; some are quite surprising, making us think how they ever became the best of buds. It’s always good to have a pal around you — someone that’s genuinely your friend, who you can lean on to when Hollywood starts to take its toll on you. Dozens of famous faces check themselves into rehab each year, simply because they struggle with the pressure of being in the limelight at all times (Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan), so it’s a breath of fresh air to confide in people other than family members, who go through the same experience.

From having each other’s back when someone is being attacked by the media, to being someone’s support system during a break-up or a career downfall, this list of stars are sure to keep their friendship intact at all costs.

10 Taylor Swift and Lorde

Yes, Taylor Swift is pretty much close pals with everybody in Hollywood — excluding her exes. But there are only some people she considers her best friends, and one of them is Lorde. The New Zealand-born singer was overwhelmed with emotions when she was told Taylor had sent flowers to her home with a card that congratulated the songstress on all of her success. Lorde thought the gesture was sweet enough to offer Taylor a meet-up at Shake Shack in New York and the rest is pretty much history. Not only do both artists immensely support each other with their music, both Taylor and Lorde tend to seek out one another when they aren’t working because a fun time is always guaranteed.

9 Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez

Leah Remini and Jennifer Lopez have been friends for years. But their bond and loyalty for one another was really put to the test when Leah announced she and her family were parting ways from Scientology. According to Leah, a lot of her closest childhood pals, who were also in the religion, abandoned her — one is not to speak with someone who decides to leave Scientology for whatever reason. Remini emphasized on numerous occasions how Jennifer Lopez became a supportive figure in her life. She wasn’t just a friend, she was more of a sister Leah confided in during her breakaway from Scientology when everybody else turned their backs on her.

8 Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio

They aren’t just best buddies in their movies, that’s for sure. Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio are so close that Leo rarely leaves for vacation without having his favorite pal by his side. Talk about bromance, right? You also know you have a good friend when the other person helps you land big time movie roles. Leonardo supposedly approached Martin Scorsese with the idea of having Jonah star in the hit film, The Wolf of Wall Street. As Martin considers Leo one of his favorite actors to work with, after a brief audition, Jonah landed the part of Donnie Azoff with its only downside being the measly paycheck — $60,000. Nevertheless, the role has opened many doors for Hill, who is starring in four upcoming movies.

7 Kanye West and Jay-Z

Kanye West’s big time success is all down to Jay-Z, who took the self-proclaimed genius from a producer who was making beats in his garage, to being one of the biggest rappers in the world. Having spent more than a decade with Kanye, Jay has really put his magic touches on Kanye’s career, who is now worth an estimated $130 million. The two famously recorded their duet album, Watch the Throne, together back in 2011 and are consistently supporting each other in their business projects. Jay-Z and Beyonce were also present at the funeral of Kanye’s mother Donda, back in 2007.

6 Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale

High School Musical may have been so 2006, but a lot of great things came out of that movie. Careers were established, doors were opened for shows like Glee to turn a singing movie into a TV-show, but most importantly, friendships were formed. And these are not your typical Hollywood friendships where you dine at a restaurant and have the paparazzi snapping photos of you eating and pretending to be cool with the other person. We’re talking about Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens. Nine years after working on one of the biggest TV movies together, Tisdale and Hudgens are still best friends, having just recently starred in their own reality show together. Friends forever.

5 Brad Pitt and George Clooney

Hollywood’s A-List actors, Brad Pitt and George Clooney are pals that have known each other for close to fifteen years. Their successful run in the hit Oceans franchise has proven to show why their friendship translates so well on-screen, with reports claiming the two are eager to work together again in the near future. Brad is known to confide in George for advice on movie roles, and feature-length motion pictures he plans on directing — they support each other in their work even when they aren’t collaborating on a project together. When George married his wife Amal Alamuddin, Brad was notably absent from the wedding due to his hectic schedule promoting his movie, Fury, at the time, but the actor was quick to reassure fans a big present was on its way to the Clooney's. Awww!

4 Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore

When you have been best friends with someone for 25 years, you have their backs no matter what, right? Cameron Diaz proved just that when she was promoting her movie, The Other Woman, on the Kylie & Jackie O show in an interview that was cut short over unkind remarks aimed at her bestie, Drew BarrymoreOne of the radio hosts had joked about Drew’s former drug addiction, and since Cameron pretty much went through that phase with her pal, Diaz would most likely have been hurt by the comments herself. After all, it seemed pretty random to take a swipe at Drew when she had nothing to do with what Cameron was there to promote. Whatever the case, Diaz hit back, sarcastically saying that the radio host must be so perfect in life that he’s probably never made any mistakes in his life. Seconds later, she claimed she had to leave and end the interview. Good one, Cameron.

3 Ben Affleck and Matt Damon

These two take the word ‘bromance’ to a whole new level. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are considered to be the closest pals in Hollywood. You can’t find any other two guys who are as close as Matt and Ben. The two went to the same school together and would later embark on a career in film together. Today, both men are married, their careers are higher than ever, and neither one of them seems to have let fame change them. We see friendships break all the time when money and fame are involved, but not with ‘Benatt.’ 2015 will see the twosome team up for their next project together in the biblical motion picture Apostle Paul, alongside Hugh Jackman.

2 Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have been friends forever! Quite frankly, this is probably our favorite Hollywood friendship, and it’s all because of how much we loved Friends. The two co-stars who starred in the hit show would go on to still be friends ten years after the show wrapped its final episode. Whenever Jen-An is spotted out and about, you are most likely to catch Courteney by her side — that’s how close they are. Aniston hopes her wedding to Justin Theroux won’t clash with Court, who is also expected to wed Johnny McDaid. Neither of the two has set any dates yet, but maybe a joint wedding wouldn't be such a bad idea, seeing how close they are.

1 Katy Perry and Rihanna

‘Bad gal’ Rihanna and longtime friend Katy Perry, are really showing the young ones how to keep a friendship everlasting. The two spend time with one another whenever they can, which isn't very often considering their hectic work schedules, but they make the best out of it. The Bajan-starlet, who first become pals with Katy back in 2009, considered Perry the go-to person for advice. Back in 2012 when Rihanna decided to reunite with former lover, Chris Brown, Katy instantly told Rihanna the move wasn't a good idea and that she would only get her heart broken again. Katy managed to snap Rihanna out of it and Chris ended up with the boot. A good friend smells when something is fishy, and will take care of it until the scent is gone, right?
