It seems as if Michael Bay is never going to let these Transformers films go. Many fans of the toys and original cartoons continue to be heartbroken and defeated whenever they hear that he is returning to direct a sequel. Of course, worldwide box offices often aren't as sad about the movies, since they always tend to make serious bank. Everybody is going to see Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and the other Autobots and Decepticons battling it out, this is a no-brainer. That doesn't stop Bay from spending a considerable percentage of the movie focusing on human characters. And one that people can always look forward to the most, is whatever new sexy female lead he chooses.
First it was Megan Fox setting the world (and nerds' hearts) on fire with her gorgeous looks in the first two Transformers films. Then, with some behind the scenes drama going on between actress and director, she left the franchise. In comes Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to replace Fox in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, who was a Victoria's Secret Angel. To replace an actress with a model might be deliberate response to the bad blood that apparently boiled between Fox and Bay, but it opened up a flood gate that doesn't seem to be slowing down. Though Nicola Peltz, who played the role of Mark Wahlberg's daughter in Transformers: Age of Extinction, wasn't a model, she was still a sexualized character, to be sure.
Which begs the question, why not just cast models in these female roles from now on? It's not as if they are going to get to play a well-written, strong female character, and they will almost certainly be made out to be the eye-candy (besides the giant robots).
10 Irina Shayk
9 Joan Smalls
One beautiful, exotic model Bay should keep his eyes on is definitely Joan Smalls. If you're not aware of her, Joan has been on the scene and making money for quite some time. Making appearances in Glamour, i-D, GQ, Vogue, Elle and Dazed & Confused. She landed the big gig, Victoria's Secret, in 2010, appearing in their 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. As far as her acting talents, she hasn't really had much experience. Joan has been one of the co-hosts of the MTV fashion series House of Style, and has appeared in a couple of music videos. One for Ricky Martin's "It's Alright," and the other for A$AP Rocky's "Phoenix," as well as the short film for the single.
8 Daniela de Jesús Cosio
Former beauty pageant contestant Daniela de Jesús Cosío, born in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, is quite a looker. She participated in the national beauty pageant Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2005 and placed as the runner-up. After which, she began her modeling career. She has been able to make some serious bank, working with clients like Ralph Lauren and Express, along with her Maybelline contract. Fortunately, Daniela does not have any acting experience and hasn't even appeared in any music videos. It wouldn't hurt for her first experience on a movie set to be with Bay in a billion-dollar franchise, and since she is not ridiculously well known, the global exposure would be quite nice.
7 Doutzen Kroes
Former Victoria's Secret Angel, Doutzen Kroes, is a Dutch model as well as an actress. In 2014, Kroes appeared in the new Calvin Klein Reveal Fragrance commercial alongside Charlie Hunnam. In terms of her acting career, it began in a pretty unique way. On November 24, 2011, Kroes debuted in Reinout Oerlemans' Nova Zembla, which was the first Dutch 3D movie ever made. 3D, eh? That experience will definitely come in handy on a Transformers set. The gorgeous, 5'10" model has been taking acting classes in New York City for a number of years now and has said during some interviews that she plans to continue acting in films. If Mark Wahlberg is going to appear in the next Transformers film, Kroes could be a good co-star working alongside his character. Blonde hair, blue eyes - what's not to love?
6 Alena Shishkova
The young Russian model and beauty queen Alena Shishkova has a face that's perfect for the big screen. She attended a musical school when she was young, and is skilled at both playing the guitar and singing. Though, given Bay's usual aesthetic and style, there's not much chance there will be a scene specifically showcasing someone's singing talents - unless it's purely for comedy. Aljona was just a teenager, 13 years old, when she started modeling professionally and has won a series of awards for her stunning looks. She's won the "Miss Hope" and "Miss Dream" title at the "Image 2008" beauty contest, the "Miss Sunshine" title in 2009 and came in 2nd place for Miss Russia 2012. She's worked all over the world, in Russia, Europe, Asia as well as America.
5 Miranda Kerr
The lovely Australian model Miranda Kerr is one of the sexiest women in the world. In 2013, Miranda revealed in an interview, "I am talking to acting agents." Due to her success, she probably doesn't even need to bother showing up in a huge, blockbuster film, but it certainly couldn't hurt her career. She appeared in a music video for the single "Number One" by Pharrell, featuring Kanye West, along with the Victoria's Secret 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 televised runway shows. She's certainly a no-brainer choice to bring into a big franchise aimed at teenage boys. Apparently, Miranda is currently dating billionaire Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel.
4 Chrissy Teigen
Former IGN Babe Chrissy Teigen is definitely one gorgeous gal. She was featured in the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and got the honor of being titled "Rookie of the Year." Chrissy got some acting experience in April of 2014, when she appeared on Amy Schumer's Inside Amy Schumer, in a sketch where she played a fictional version of herself as a relationship counselor. She also appeared on The Mindy Project in the beginning of 2015. Teigen met her husband, singer/songwriter John Legend, on the set for one of his music videos in 2007. Most recently, Chrissy co-hosted the 2015 Billboard Music Awards with rapper Ludacris. It would not be surprising at all to see her popping up in a big film.
3 Lily Aldridge
Victoria's Secret Angel and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model Lily Aldridge. While she may not have much experience in the acting department, she has appeared in some high profile music videos during her career. Most recently, Aldridge made an appearance in Taylor Swift's epic "Bad Blood" video. That was pretty special effects heavy, which may make the transition into a Bay Transformers film a bit easier. Aldridge also popped up in two music videos for Kings of Leon, "Temple" and "Use Somebody." That isn't surprising, seeing as she is married to the band's frontman Caleb Followill and the mother of their daughter. Maybe she could get a Kings of Leon song on the soundtrack for the Transformers film.
2 Adriana Lima
The beautiful, Brazilian actress and model Adriana Lima is probably most well-known for her work with Victoria's Secret. If you take a look at her, it's no surprise that she won the award for "Hottest Girl on the Planet" in 2007 for the Spike Guys' Choice Awards. Adriana seems to have a pretty interesting acting resume as it turns out. She's had guest roles on two American television shows, Ugly Betty, The Crazy Ones and How I Met Your Mother. She's been able to work alongside Forest Whitaker and Mickey Rourke in the 2001 film The Follow. Hopefully she learned something she could apply on set with Bay.
1 Kate Upton
Kate Upton has already delivered her big screen acting debut in the 2011 comedy Tower Heist, with a couple of other mediocre-to-decent comedy films right after that. Kate is easily at the top of the list when it comes to ridiculously hot supermodels right now, and this is more than enough of a reason for Michael Bay to work with her. It's always easy to star opposite a bunch of special effects - no one is really paying attention to you, but rather the visual spectacle. But maybe the closest she's ever come to being associated with any kind of special effects was for one of her 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue shoots, where she was filmed in near zero gravity on the G-Force One plane.
