I know what you are thinking. How can someone be straight and have had a gay relationship? I mean I know I am straight. How do I know this? Well, mostly because I am attracted to women, and have never had sex with a guy. But with that said, this list isn't just about having a sexual encounter with someone of the same sex; it is about having a gay relationship, and still identifying as straight. To me it all seems so simple. But is it really?
Apparently it isn't, at least not to the celebrities on this list. To them it is totally natural that they have had same sex relationships and still identify as straight. Can someone really be straight if they have had a gay relationship in the past? What do you think?
Most of the people on this list have had only one known gay relationship amidst a bunch of straight ones, but there are a couple who are married to someone of the opposite sex, but have had numerous gay relationships in the past. Are you as confused as I am?
To try and sort it out, here are 10 Straight Celebs Who've Had Gay Relationships.
Fergie is known to most as being a member of the Black Eyed Peas, a group who has sold over 76 million records over their existence. She has been married since 2009 to Josh Duhamel and the couple have a son together. Before being with her husband, Fergie had relationships with a lot of different women. She has this to say about her past experiences with the ladies: "I think women are beautiful, I’ve had a lot of fun with women, and I’m not ashamed of it."
I am sure her husband isn't ashamed either; when it comes to thinking of your wife with other women, most guys aren't.
9 Megan Fox
Megan Fox is gorgeous model/actress since 2001 or so. She also is married to Brian Austin Green of Beverly Hills 90210 fame. They have been hitched since 2010. They have two children together. She sounds straight right? Well... kind of. When Megan was 18 she had a relationship with a female stripper, and even said that she fell in love with her. Well okay then Megan, you belong on this list. Megan also has OCD and has said that she speaks in tongues, so we can gather that Brian has a lot to deal with some evenings.
8 Gavin Rossdale
Okay, this one is a surprise. Admit it. Handsome Gavin Rossdale, lead singer of Bush and former husband of ridiculously hot Gwen Stefani had a gay relationship? Well, yes he did. According to , he and Gavin were not only in a relationship, they were together for 5 years. Rossdale at first said this wasn't true, but then said it did happen, but it was just "part of growing up". Well for most straight guys, a 5-year relationship with another man is a bit more than that, but we will give Gavin the benefit of the doubt.
7 Lindsay Lohan
All right. Is there any list that has anything to do with sex or partying that Lindsay Lohan isn't featured? Well, we will have to figure that out another time, because she is a part of this one. Lindsay is known to be with guys, lots of them really. Some of the more famous men she has been with include Wilmer Valderrama and Colin Farrell. But she has also dipped her toes into the lesbian pond, and had a relationship with English songwriter and DJ Samantha Ronson. Did this make Lindsay confused? Never. She had this to say about it: "I know I’m straight. I have made out with girls before, and I had a relationship with a girl. ... I think I was looking for something different."
6 Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie? Say it ain't so. She is one of the most beautiful and talented actresses of all time, but is perhaps best known as being one half of one of the most famous straight couples ever. We are talking about Jolie and Brad Pitt of course. This ridiculously handsome couple has been tabloid fodder forever, and not only that but they have 6 kids together, legally anyway. What people don't know is that Angelina previously had a relationship with actress Jenny Shimizu. Jolie said, "I would probably have married Jenny if I hadn't married my husband. I fell in love with her the first second I saw her."
5 Margaret Cho
Margaret Cho is a little all over the place with her sexuality. She is married to a guy, which of course makes one think she is straight. Then she says she identifies as queer, which of course makes one think that she is gay. Then when you think you have that figured out, she says "of course, I've had relationships with women, but my politics are more queer than my lifestyle."
4 Anne Heche
You all remember Anne Heche I am sure? She used to be Ellen DeGeneres' partner, and at the time seemed really gay, and also kind of nuts. She has said she has always been with men except for her time with DeGeneres. After breaking up with Ellen, she married a cameraman she met on one of her comedy tours, but that ended in divorce. In divorce papers, her ex said she had "bizarre and delusional behavior for which she refuses to seek professional help". She is now with James Tupper, with whom she has a child.
3 Amber Heard
Amber Heard is a gorgeous 29-year-old actress. While she has had her fair share of success in her career, her biggest claim to fame is marrying Johnny Depp. Even at his relatively advanced age, he is still considered one of the hottest guys around. While we are sure that Mr. Depp keeps Amber happy, in the past she had a thing for the ladies, or at least one lady anyway. She was reportedly dating female photographer Tasya Van Ree for approximately 3 years. She has said "I love who I love; it's the person that matters." I imagine this is especially true if the person is Johnny Depp.
2 Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchette is a classy lady, and is a critically-acclaimed actress. On a promotional tour for her new film Carol, which touches on the theme of two women who fall in love with each other, Blanchett was asked if she ever had taken the plunge into that type of relationship herself. Blanchett, who has been married since 1996 and has 4 children responded: "Yes, many times." While she is too much of a lady to give details, the rest of us all appreciate the fantasy, even if we don't like to admit it.
1 Drew Barrymore
Everyone knows Drew Barrymore; she is a talented actress who has been working since she was a child. She also has been linked to many different celebrities over the years romantically, including Tom Green, The Strokes drummer Fab Moretti, and musician Jamie Walters. She has been married to Will Kopelman since 2012. They have two daughters. What a lot of people don't know is that she had a long-term gay relationship in the mid 90s with Jane Pratt, who is the editor of Jane magazine.
