Butler has admitted that he didn’t feel very brave at the time. In an interview with Kelly Ripa, Butler said, “I was initially gripped by fear and an empty feeling, thinking that the boy was dead.” The actor was reminded of his moment of bravery when he nearly drowned on the set of the movie, Chasing Mavericks. When talking about the incident Butler said, “It looked like a tsunami coming in. I was down. I just didn't come back up, really. 4 Prince William
In 2012, Prince William participated in the helicopter rescue of a 16-year-old girl. The young girl had been caught in a rip current off the coast of Wales, where her and her friend (who had already been rescued) were body-boarding. Prince William and the rest of the crew got there just in time. By the time they arrived, the young girl was looking exhausted. The crew’s paramedic said, “sometimes it’s just a twisted ankle or a broken bone, but this was one rescue where we truly did arrive in the nick of time and managed to save this young girl’s life.”
3 Mark Harmon
2 Harrison Ford
1 Tom Cruise
Tom Cruise seems to save lives on a regular basis. There was one time where he saw that a yacht was in flames and instead of waiting for help, he took it upon himself to set sail towards it, and pulled everyone to safety. There was another instance in which Cruise witnessed a hit and run accident, after which he stayed with the victim until the paramedics arrived. To top it all off, when he found out the victim was uninsured, he paid for her medical expenses. Finally, Cruise saved a young boy from being trampled at one of his movie premiers by pulling him out of the over-excited crowd. Cruise has proved time and time again, that even though he may be a little bit eccentric, he’s a real life hero.
