Superhero fatigue is a myth. At this point, the genre is just a license to print money and they aren't slowing down anytime soon. After 2008, superhero films would never be the same again. They've relaunched careers, redefined what a superhero film could be and even created the structure of a cinematic universe that has forever changed Hollywood. It's not surprising that some of the most talented actors in the world are looking to be in one.

From the late Heath Ledger winning an Oscar for his role as the Joker, to Anthony Hopkins playing Odin in Thor, to Robert Redford showing up in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This is no longer just silly, children's entertainment. So many comic book movies are now being written and directed with substance and real human emotion. The latest Batman v Superman trailer gives us a glimpse into what could be the greatest and most dramatic rivalry between two heroes on screen. It would definitely be a smart move for young, up-and-coming actors to work towards snagging one of these roles.

But who really deserves one? There are a plethora of talented performers, male, female and of all different races and cultures. Young Hollywood is seeing some of the most promising talent out there, and it would be great to see some of those actors land their own franchise. But even for the well-seasoned stars who have been at it for years, the time has come for some of them to be given the superhero spotlight, as well.

10 Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel has been deserving of his own superhero franchise for quite some time now. Sure, the Fast and Furious franchise can basically be labeled as a superhero series, with people performing ridiculous stunts and defying the laws of physics. And yes, he does voice the talking tree Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy. But he should be headlining his own franchise, with being the star and getting top-billing. He's hinted that he's talked with Marvel Studios to play the Inhuman known as Black Bolt, and if that is the case, that's the perfect series for him to star in.

9 Joseph Gordon-Levitt

The former 3rd Rock From the Sun actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has come a long way during the last several years. He made a pretty big leap into the mainstream when he was cast in Christopher Nolan's Inception, and from that point forward, he's been skyrocketing to success. He even became a filmmaker in his own right in 2013, when he wrote and directed his first film Don Jon, snagging the gorgeous Scarlett Johannson as a co-star. Gordon-Levitt has earned the fame that he is now and it's time for him to get rewarded with a major superhero tentpole.

8 Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks is certainly one of the greats in Hollywood, and for very good reason. From dramas, to comedies, to war films and nearly everything else in between, he's proven he can do it all. Not to mention that he is a two-time Academy Award winner and the voice of Woody. If he were ever going to play a superhero, there are two perfect choices for him: Jay Garrick - the first character to be The Flash in DC Comics - and Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. Because of his age and his looks, snagging either one of those roles would be awesome, and he's even expressed interest in playing a superhero.

7 Oscar Isaac

Oscar Isaac is up-and-coming, delivering one stellar performance after another. He first got his commercial break with Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch in 2011, and since then, he's worked with Joel and Ethan Coen as well as J.J. Abrams. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to make him a household name for sure, and he will be playing a supervillain in next year's X-Men:Apocalypse. Playing a comic book villain is one of the best roles an actor can get, but it's still nothing like playing the hero in a trilogy. He's got enough acting talent, charm and good looks to headline his own franchise.

6 Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt's name has been thrown around quite a bit for the role of Captain Marvel. She's been around for a while, perhaps the first time most American audiences became aware of her was in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada. Since then, her career has developed and she's become very popular, most notably with her role as Rita in Edge of Tomorrow. Blunt was the ultimate warrior in that film, and it was this ferocious portrayal that caused many fanboys to want to see her in something big, like a Marvel film. Captain Marvel isn't scheduled to be released until 2018, so if she doesn't get that role, let's hope she gets to play another amazing heroine.

5 John Boyega

If you have not seen Attack The Block, the first film John Boyega was in, do yourself a favor and seek it out. The young man, who looks a lot like a young Denzel Washington, just oozes with charisma. His role as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is fantastic, and he knocks it out of the park with his performance. If there are any young, new actors that deserve to be the lead in high profile films, Boyega is high on that list. There is a black Batman in comic books - Batwing - with two different people donning the costume. David Zavimbe, who is African, and the son of Lucius Fox, Luke Fox.

4 Rebecca Ferguson

You may know and recognize Rebecca Ferguson from what was probably the best spy movie of 2015 - Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation. Before that film, she wasn't really on everybody's radar, but after people saw the movie - that all changed. Rightfully so, critics gushed over Ferguson in the film, not only for her acting prowess but her awesome physicality. She's got what it takes to perform in a very physical, stunt-heavy action film, what a perfect opportunity to give her a superhero role. Rebecca has even been talked about as a possibility for Captain Marvel, which may leave Emily with some pretty stiff competition for the role.

3 Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld first blew people away with her performance in 2010's True Grit, as Mattie Ross. Her performance was so exceptional, considering that she was only 14 years old at the time, it earned her an Oscar nomination. She hasn't been in many other films of that caliber since then, and hasn't really been given a character that brings out another incredible performance. But nonetheless, the talent she possesses is still there. Steinfeld would serve as a pretty perfect Kitty Pryde, if and when the X-Men franchise decides to reboot and recast.

2 Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey has been able to swing his acting career in a new direction and become one of the best working today. For the last few years, McConaughey has been delivering one incredible performance after another, doing away with the shlocky romantic-comedies. Maybe starring in a film like Warner Bros. upcoming Suicide Squad would be a good for him, or perhaps a dark, disturbed character like Moon Knight. However, if he is able to hide his southern accent and grow out his beard, he could be a perfect fit for Oliver Queen, a.k.a. Green Arrow.

1 Lupita Nyong'o

She is easily one of the most beautiful and talented actors in Hollywood. Lupita Nyong'o pretty much had the Best Actress Oscar locked with her performance in 12 Years a Slave. Lupita is also the third actor on this list who has a role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Once Halle Berry is done playing Storm in the X-Men series and Fox is ready to recast, Lupita could take the reigns. Maybe in the hands of a better actor, the character could be interesting this time around.
