Being a celebrity means being famous. While there are a lot of good things that come with fame, there are also some drawbacks. For one, famous and rich people must constantly worry about their personal safety. As a result, many spend huge sums on security. 10. Victoria and David Beckham: $1 Million/Year

Victoria and David Beckham are believed to spend at least a million dollars a year on security. With houses in the United States and Europe, the couple has a lot of property to protect. Further, with Mr. Beckham constantly traveling for work, the bills can quickly pile up. Add four children to the mix and the bills increase even more quickly as each child needs protection.

9. Jennifer Lopez: $1.4 Million/Year

Jennifer Lopez was believed to be spending around $1.4 million dollars a year on security. We say “was” because a recent run in with a stalker who was found to be living on her property for six days has likely caused Ms. Lopez to reconsider her spending. Luckily, Jennifer was not hurt in the incident, but needless to say she was shaken up.

8. Tom Cruise and Family: Baby Suri has a Body Double

Tom Cruise is a big spender when it comes to security, and his daughter Suri receives perhaps the most attention. She has a four guard security team that constantly keeps watch. She also has a body double for distracting the paparazzi and other measures to make sure that daddy's little girl is safe. Tom Cruise is also guarded by his own team and their houses are practically fortresses in their own right. So if you're thinking about sneaking over for a photograph, you might want to think twice.

Rihanna is a particularly difficult client for her security guards to protect. She is adored by fans and loves to travel. She is also a highly distinctive person and easy to pick out in a crowd. When she's on the move, her guards have to keep a close eye on her. Her house is also known for being a fortress, good thing too because a stalker was recently caught trying to break in.

6. 50 Cent: $20,000/Week

50 Cent is reported to spend $20,000 dollars a week for private security at his mansion in Connecticut alone. Details on what that money buys aren't available and security teams work hard to keep their numbers and capabilities hush-hush. While 50 Cent doesn't spend as much time in the spot light these days, few could fault him for his security spending. In 2000, 50 Cent was shot nine times, including in the face and chest, and barely survived the incident. He was also shot in a less serious incident in 1999. After so many close calls, it shouldn't be all too surprising that 50 Cent elects to staff an advanced security force.

5. Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Has 4 Bodyguards with Him at all Times

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is generally considered to be among the greatest boxers of all time. With 45 career wins vs. 0 career losses, it's easy to see why. While Mayweather is one of the toughest guys in the ring, he lets his large security staff take care of things outside of the arena. Mayweather generally has at least four private bodyguards with him at any given moment. When he flies on his private jet, his bodyguards actually fly in a separate jet, because Mayweather believes it is unsafe to fly with too many people. His guards are also famous for their massive size. In fact his main four guards together weigh nearly 1,500 pounds.

4. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian: 24/7 Security for baby North West

The “Kimye” of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian draws attention like few other couples. Both are extremely famous in their own rights, and when you combine them, they seem to magnify each other. Add in the new baby North West, and you've got a heck of a lot of star power. Since adding a baby to the family, the couple also added a million dollar armored vehicle to their fleet. They also staff security guards 24/7 and North West will even have her own security detail. There security system for their home is also rumored to cost in the millions of dollars alone.

3. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: $2 Million/Year

“Brangelina” is the nickname used for the high profile couple of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They are estimated to spend about $2 million dollars a year on security. As two of Hollywood's most famous actors, and arguably its most famous couple, the two are certainly in need of high level security. At the same time, the couple have six children that need looking after. With houses in the United Kingdom, and Los Angeles, among other places, the couple also has a lot of property that needs to be taken care of. Add in high profile visits to countries in Africa and elsewhere, and the costs can add up very quickly. The couple is known for employing ex-SAS soldiers and even having finger print readers equipped for their homes.

2. Jay Z and Beyoncé: Upgraded Security to $4 Million

Two of the music industry’s two most powerful names, Jay Z and Beyoncé certainly don't skimp when it comes to security spending. Constantly surrounded by armed guards, Jay Z is particularly careful when it comes to looking after his wife. Jay Z reportedly upgraded his security spending with an additional $4 million invested on expanding staff and buying two armored vehicles. This is in addition to who knows how much the couple was already spending on security.

1. Mukesh Ambani: $25,000/ Month

Short of the President of the United States and a few other key political leaders, no one has a security team quite like Mukesh Ambani’s. India's richest make spends RS 15 lakh a month on his salaries for his security team alone. In U.S. dollars that's about $25,000 dollars. It's important to remember, however, that dollars stretch a heck of a lot farther in India. So what does Ambani’s security force look like? He has 28 highly trained and skilled professionals at his disposal. These security members are the same ones that protect high level government officials, with Ambani picking up the tab instead of taxpayers. With a fighting force like that, Ambani could consider invading a small country. On top of that, there are the armored cars, security cameras, and everything else a billionaire needs to stay safe.
