So it’s no secret, rappers are making huge amounts of money every year. On the Forbes Cash Kings list, we see reappearances from stars such as Dr. Dre, Rick Ross, Jay-Z, Puff Daddy all raking in millions. Perhaps you might be asking yourself how these big earners are spending their money? Well, a lot of them are throwing down big bucks for some of the most insane mansions you have ever set your eyes on. Do you remember Robin Leach from the show Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous? Well that’s exactly the type of opulence and luxury you are going to see in the feature below. Who knew that writing rhymes on a pad and performing in front of crowds could earn you such a plush and wealthy lifestyle.

15. Rick Ross

There is no doubt about it; Rick Ross is one of the most successful rappers in the industry. His label MMG is home to a very talented roster of rappers including Wale, Meek Mill, Rockie Fresh, Stalley, Gunplay and more. The money must be rolling in because last year, he ended up purchasing a sprawling mansion in Fayetteville, GA. The estate was formerly owned by Evander Holyfield and here are just a few of the stats: it sits on 105 acres, it has 12 bathrooms, 21 baths, a 7-stall barn, a baseball field, indoor pool, bowling alley and even a movie theater. We don’t know why a rapper needs a baseball field, but you have to admit, Rick Ross is certainly balling on another level.

14. Will Smith

When you talk about rappers who made the successful transition from rocking the mic to becoming major Hollywood players, Will Smith is probably on the top of the list. He is estimated to have a net worth of $250 million and his wife Jada Pinkett is a huge earner too. The Smith family owns a truly amazing mansion in Calabasas, CA. The mansion occupies 150 acres and there is a total living space of 25,000 sq. ft. It also includes an 8-car garage, several fireplaces, and a double height entryway. The grounds are also extremely impressive. It has a man-made lake, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts and an imposing swimming pool that has been specially constructed to look like a lagoon. What can we say; this mansion is definitely Big Willy Style.

13. Birdman

Bryan “Birdman” Williams is one of the richest moguls in the rap industry. He is the CEO and co-founder of Cash Money Records and for close to 20 years, he has been eating very well from the rap game. Of course his label is the parent company of Lil Wayne’s Young Money, so he also gets a check from the enormous success of acts like Tyga, Drake and Nicki Minaj. In 2012, Birdman purchased an insane mansion in Palm Island, Miami. He purchased it for $14.5 million and it has 9 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms and occupies a whopping 19,000 sq. ft. The sprawling home was first owned by producer Scott Storch before he lost it to foreclosure in 2010. The mansion also has an in-ground pool and an exclusive private dock that allows direct access to the water.

12. 50 Cent

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is one of the most entrepreneurial moguls in the rap industry. Apart from still being a major player in the music industry, he also has an energy drink, his own headphones, he acts and he even produces his own movies and television shows. In 2003, 50 Cent purchased the Connecticut mansion formerly owned by Mike Tyson. It has 52 rooms in total including 25 bathrooms, a dance club and a casino – Wow! He has been trying to sell it for the last few years, but no one seems to want to take it off his hands. The mansion was last listed for $9,999,999; it was originally listed for $14.5 million but was still too expensive. So for now, he’ll have to enjoy that casino by himself until the right buyer comes along.

11. Drake

Dubbed as the YOLO mansion, Drake’s sprawling mansion in the Hidden Hills area of Calabasas, CA is nothing to play with. He scooped it up in 2012 for $7.7 million and it was originally owned by Larry Pollack, the owner of Saddle Ranch Chop Houses. This ultimate player hideaway has 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and occupies a very spacious 7,444 square feet. Some other really cool features of this mansion include: a 5 stall horse facility, a huge pool with cascading waterfalls, a grotto, a sand volleyball court and a 24-seat theater. It even has a spectacular wine cellar and tasting room so guests can wine, dine and party till the sun comes up.

10. Kanye West

For the next rapper on this list with a crazy mansion, we are going to talk about none other than Mr. Kanye West. Kanye and his wife Kim also decided to buy a home in Calabasas, CA where other rappers like Drake and Tyga also own homes. The couple reportedly purchased the mansion for $20 million dollars, and it occupies 16,000 square feet. The estate features a couple of swimming pools, eight bedrooms, a wet bar, a library, a theater, a game room and yes a vineyard. North West is certainly going to grow up living in the lap of luxury.

9. Sean “Diddy” Combs

It seems California is the place to go when celebs are looking to drop big chunks of money for beautiful, humongous homes. That’s what Diddy did last year when he was looking to purchase a new home for himself. According to the LA Times, he purchased a mansion in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles for $40 million. The house is a new construction and it occupies 17,000 sq.ft and features a 35-seat theater, a gym and a spacious wine room. The grounds of the house are extremely impressive with additional features like a lagoon-style swimming pool and a grotto that connects to an underwater swimming tunnel. In April, 2014, Forbes listed Diddy’s net worth to be $700 million, so this $40 million price tag is one that won’t dent his bottom line too much.

8. Tyga

West Coast rapper Tyga is only 25-yrs-old but he’s been earning large amounts of cash for quite a while now. In 2012, the “Rack City” rapper purchased a mansion in Calabasas, CA for $6.5 million. It’s apparently the plush pad where his 17-yr-old girlfriend Kylie Jenner spends most of her days and nights. The mansion has a movie theater, 7 bedrooms, swimming pool, waterfall, fully operating gym and 8 bathrooms. It occupies 9,200 square feet, several fireplaces and a multi-camera security system to ward off any intrepid intruders. The young rapper is certainly living the life of a superstar.

7. Dr. Dre

Rapper, producer and tech mogul Dr. Dre is well on his way to becoming rap music’s first certified billionaire. And he’s certainly spending money like the wealthy mogul he is. Last year, Dre plopped down $40 million for the Brentwood mansion that was formerly owned by Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. The superstar couple built the mansion from the ground up and it’s completely eco-friendly. In addition to that, it has 9 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, a moat and a sauna. It occupies 18,000 square feet and Dre apparently fell in love with it the minute he saw it. You know you’re doing really well in the world when a $40 million price tag fits nicely into your spending budget.

6. Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne is one of the living icons of the rap game. There are so many new artists on the scene, like Young Thug and Travis Scott, who have based their careers on his success. He’s going through a lot of label drama now with his former mentor, Birdman. Hopefully all that will get sorted out soon. In the meantime he is enjoying his last few days in this lavish Miami Beach mansion, until he sells it. He purchased it in 2011 for $11.6 million and it has 9 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and occupies 15,101 square feet. It also has sky terraces, a 3-bedroom guest house and two-floor master suite with a glass elevator. Even though the rapper has put the home up for sale we still wanted to include this lavish mansion on the list. Due to legal/money issues, the rapper is now in the process of trying to sell the mansion for $18 million.

5. Eminem

Eminem will forever be considered as perhaps the best white rapper to ever rock the microphone. He continues to not only make great music himself, but his Shady Records label consists of heavy-hitters like Joe Budden, Crooked I, Yelawolf and Joel Ortiz. Em originally hails from Detroit and in 2003, he bought a truly expansive mansion in Oakland County, Michigan. It was formerly owned by a CEO of K-Mart and it has 15,000 square feet of living space, 6 bedrooms and nine and a half bathrooms. The price he paid when he scooped it up was $4.8 million.

4. Ludacris

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges is a rapper that’s having a great 2015 so far. His 8th studio album Ludaversal was just released, and it’s getting rave reviews from critics. Also Fast & Furious 7 was just released and it’s looking like it has already over $800 million dollars at the global box office. Since he’s based in L.A. a lot lately, Luda recently purchased a $4.8 million mansion in his new, adopted city. His new West Coast pad has 5-bedrooms, 6,000 sq-ft, an infinity pool and wrap-around balconies. You can be sure Fast & Furious 8 is certainly in the works and Ludacris is going to keep on making those big Hollywood bucks.

3. Nelly

Nelly is currently 40-yrs-old and the St. Louis rapper has had a long run in the hip-hop game earning tons of cash. The great thing about being from a state like Missouri is that you can buy real estate for way cheaper than you can in California, New York City or Miami. Nelly paid $1.4 million for his mansion and it sits on 6 acres, the property includes a living area of 9,000 sq. ft. Other highlights of this estate located in Eureka, Missouri include a large pool and an actual-size basketball court.

2. Pharrell

Pharrell is one of the most artistic stars on the music scene today, and the Miami penthouse he calls home (that he currently has on sale) definitely mirrors his eclectic taste. It is situated right on the Miami waterfront and it has a living space of 98,000 square-ft. The swanky pad features 5 bedrooms, 61/2 bathrooms, a spacious home theater and a 3-story main room with a staircase. Other highlights include floor to ceiling windows, a roof-top terrace, an outdoor kitchen and a private pool. The space is adorned with eye-catching and unique artwork and it also has a 360-degree panoramic view of Miami Beach, downtown Miami and Key Biscayne. He purchased it for $12.5 million and is currently trying to sell it for upwards of $16 million.

1. Jay-Z

Jay-Z and Beyoncé are two of the biggest stars on earth, and together, this superpower couple is worth over a billion dollars. Honestly, Jay and Bey have the funds to live anywhere they want, and currently one of their plush abodes is a really attractive mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles. According to Refinery 29, they are still renting the place, and the rent is an amazing $150,000 a month. Some of the stellar features of this L.A. crib: 7 bedrooms, 8 and a half bathrooms, two libraries, a tennis court and an infinity pool. They are apparently in the market to find something more permanent, but it seems this place will do just fine in the meantime.
