13 Cool Hideouts For Celeb Down Time

via:www.romancemeetslife.com

While many celebrities crave the attention of their fans, some are actually shy and prefer to retreat into their normal lives. There are also celebrities who like a little of both types of lifestyles – famous and normal – but there are very few who look forward or desire to be in the spotlight 24/7. It can be exhausting to have to be “on” all of the time and display the public persona that fans expect when spotted.

Now, more than ever before, celebrities live in a fishbowl. So it is not surprising that when they need to retreat, they find some of the most hidden and reclusive places on the planet. Of course, these are some of the most spectacular, luxurious and environmentally unique destinations available, so we aren’t feeling exactly sorry for them.

If you had the discretionary income and needed some privacy, which of the following hideaways would you select?

North Island – Seychelles

North Island Resort Lodge in the Seychelles

Reports in the Dailymail have it that Brad Pitt clued George Clooney in on a favorite resort he and Angelina have enjoyed. The resort is in Seychelles and is only accessible by helicopter, to give you an idea of just how remote. George took his suggestion and North Island in Seychelles became the location of George and Amal’s honeymoon. What could be more romantic than helicoptering down to a secluded island? Evidently, the suites are villas that are 5,000-square-feet and include their own plunge pools.

In case you haven’t heard of Seychelles, it is in the Indian Ocean and is an island-country that is comprised of 115-islands that lies east of Southeast Africa.

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

When it’s not honeymoon season, Bora Bora is a great hideaway for celebrities. There is a five-star enclave that includes Royal Estate, which has its own beach, pool and spa. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban stayed there for the honeymoon away from it all. Alyssa Milano and David Bugliari spent a week in the same resort.

Carrie Underwood and husband, Mike Fisher, stayed at Le Taha’s Island Resort & Spa which is known for its over-the-water bungalows with amazing views around and under the water. Bora Bora is truly as exotic as its name.

St. Tropez, France

Sexy, St. Tropez is located in the French Riviera and has been a celebrity getaway for decades because the average person simply cannot afford it. It is near other exciting getaways, such as Cannes and Monaco, so the location is perfect for adventure and for being out of the mainstream spotlight. Paris Hilton, Jay-Z, Beyonce and Tom Cruise have all been spotted here among many others.

There are many waterfront villas that have gardens to hide their guests’  familiar faces. This is also the location of some of the world’s largest megayachts and celebrity VIP rooms in some of the hottest clubs.

This Nevada hot spot has so much to offer, celebrities flock to the resort. It’s more than a hotel, it’s a compound of entertainment. The compound includes the Palms Fantasy Tower which is modern and guaranteed to make the younger celebrities feel like they are in the “it” place. The Palms Place is the upscale part of the compound and is ready to welcome any number of celebrities such as Michael Phelps and Scarlett Johansson.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas is a resort city located on the tip of the Baja, California peninsula. The most luxurious and familiar resort is the Palmilla, which is where the rich and famous might stay if they don’t rent their own villa. There is also The Esperanza resort and Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa for other popular celeb handouts.

Model Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber own a second home in Cabo, which happens to be next door to yet another one of George Clooney’s homes. Los Cabos is known for its exciting nightlife, golf attractions, water sports and divine restaurants.

Palm Springs, California

Palm Springs has been considered Hollywood’s closest hideaway way back when Marilyn Monroe, Doris Day and the Rat Pack were leading the entertainment crowd. Well, due to its short distance from Los Angeles, the desert city is still considered a great place to hideaway from the staring fans and shutterbugs. Some of the resorts are current celebrity hangouts, such as Two Bunch Palms and the Marriott.

Lake Como, Italy

If you follow any entertainment news, you already know that Lake Como is where George Clooney has one of his homes. He owns Villa Oleandra, which is a waterfront mansion, and before he was married he lived there part of the year. Who knows what 2015 will hold for George and Amal, now that they own a home in the U.K.?

Of course, Clooney’s a pack leader – so ever since 2002, when he purchased the property – other celebrities have followed in the areas of Como, Bellagio and Lecco, which are all perfect for celeb hideaways.

St. Barts, Caribbean

St. Barts is also known as Saint Barthélemy and is located in the gorgeous Caribbean, which is home to many celebrity hideaways. It has also been the party location for many Euro jet-setters who enjoy bouncing from one hot spot to another. Even though it is trendy, like St. Tropez, it still attracts celebrities from all walks, ages and venues – such as Uma Thurman, Penelope Cruz, Puff Daddy, Kate Moss and Simon Cowell.

The beauty of going to St. Barts is that it is not easily accessible, which makes it pretty safe from crime or paparazzi. Evidently, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich holds his annual New Year’s bash here – which, according to the DailyMail, is legendary. Every year, the party includes performers such as The Kings of Leon and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Who knows what is in store for this year?

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Jackson Hole is sophisticated, upscale and yet still full of cowboys, which makes it the ideal hideaway. Harrison Ford owns a ranch there and celebrity skiers make way for the runs down Dick’s Ditch every winter. This is less populated and frilly than Aspen or other ski resort-type cities in the U.S. and the locals don’t seem to much care if you are Dick Cheney, Sandra Bullock or Brad Pitt, as they’re more interested in the slopes and the daily life of the Wyoming resident.

It is located in the Rocky Mountains and is about 60 miles south of Yellowstone National Park. The Grand Tetons are off in the distance and help give this small area a spectacular vantage point.

Anguilla, Caribbean

Anguilla has become very popular over the last decade and is known for its clean beaches, tiny communities and luxury resorts. According to reports, the restaurants and beaches are the best in the Caribbean, but that’s like comparing golden bullion to golden bullion, right? It is definitely not a mainstream destination and is frequented by celebs who are looking to go off the grid completely. Stars such as Denzel Washington, Janet Jackson, Liam Neeson and Ethan Hawke have been seen here.

Cap Juluca is one of the top celebrity honeymoon hotels, according to Trip Advisor. The hotel is also featured in all of the popular Bride magazines and comes up in many polls as having the “world’s ultimate bathrooms” and as being “the most romantic hideaway”.

Fiji

Fiji consists of 300 islands and is filled with astounding natural beauty. It’s been a hot spot for years, as mainstream fans simply don’t show up in the posh and luxurious resorts and villas.

The Turtle Island resort has been known to have celebrity guests such as Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson and is so exclusive, it can only accommodate 14 guests at one time. It is, after all, on its privately-owned island. The Wakaya Club & Spa has been the destination for Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, Keith Richards and Bill & Melinda Gates.

The snow peaks are menacing-looking yet ski enthusiasts look forward to hanging out and skiing around the 10,000 feet tall mountain peaks. The Palace lobby is the place to be seen for those who want to mingle with other socialites and celebrities, otherwise the city is a great place not to be seen by anyone.

Many of the restaurants overlook Lake St. Moritz, which is beautiful when it is frozen over in the winter months. Paris Hilton and occasional boyfriend, Stavros Niarchos, have been be spotted here among many others.

Aspen, Colorado

Aspen’s famous visitor list is long and includes such notables as Paul Hogan, Calvin Klein and Oprah Winfrey.
