10 Must-See Celebrity Bathrooms

What are some of the things people look for before purchasing a home for themselves and their families? Is it the price tag?  Is it the size of the living room? The location, whether it’s within school zones or in a good neighborhood? Is it the closet space in the main bedroom? A lot of people might say the kitchen is the main interest, since it’s the center of all the day-to-day activities for everyone to use.

Although these may all be important main interests, the bathroom may be the most essential place in a household.  The bathroom is where the owners have time for themselves, a place where they can dwell on their daily events. That tranquil feel of turning on the shower head as the water cascades down on your face. These are some of the things that high profiled celebs put a lot of priority on.

It takes true craftsmanship to design a bathroom that truly represents you, that personal little something is always desired in order to make you truly feel at home. Let’s take a look at some of the most luxurious celebrity bathrooms.

10 Suzanne Somers

In order to take a knock at the door of the former Three’s Company star, you must begin by taking a funicular just to reach the estate. Her Palm Springs home, currently on the market since the summer with an asking price of $14.5 million, sits high atop 73 acres of prime real estate with a mountain view from the patio.  That same patio has a deck-side soaking tub if one wants to experience nature in the buff. Inside is a master bathroom that will have you in awe of the thigh-master guru.  Somers' bathroom features a soaking tub, a separate tiled steam shower, double sinks and a lounge room.

9 Phil Mickelson

The US Open Champion golfer listed his Tuscan style, 4.88 acre home for sale in 2008 and has not yet sold. His home has a one of a kind shower, perfect to stand in after a long day on the links. Mickelson had the master bathroom ripped apart and replaced it with custom mosaic tiles crafted by artisan Pietri Bersage, known for his work at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.  The shower itself is a true piece of elegance, this circular glass enclosed fish tank shower sits centered on the Calcutta marble floor. The bathroom also includes custom made vanities with Baccarat crystal and sterling silver fixtures.

The 3-time Masters champion first put his house for sale in 2008 for $12 million before pulling it from the market in 2011. The home resurfaced in 2012 for $7 million and is now going for a little less at $6.995 million.

8 Donatella Versace

The famous designer, Donatella Versace is a busy woman, running one of the most successful luxury brands in the world. Her interior design tastes showcase her talents as well. Her lavish bathroom exhibits a large scaled circular tub, surrounding a sprawled out bronze statue of Buddha and a black leather upholstery, courtesy of The Versace Home Collection. A mirrored wall reflects the vaulted ceiling and patio beyond.

7 Courteney Cox

Did you know that Courteney Cox had the fortuity of dancing with Bruce Springsteen in the video for Dancing in the Dark? And before obtaining the role of Monica Geller on NBC’s Friends, she had college dreams of becoming an architect? She eventually dropped out to pursue a career in modelling and acting, but she may have kept that architect’s touch when creating the master bathroom in her private Malibu Home. Cox’s master bath is ebonized in white oak, with custom made pendant lights and sink fittings made by Waterworks, a bathroom fixture company. The laid back bathroom also features a drawing that her father sketched back when she was in high school, making it that much more personal.

6 Michael Bay

When Michael Bay bought his new home, previously owned by WWE Legend Hulk Hogan, he was unimpressed by the designing of the house, which appeared to have lackluster furniture and a mismatched interior. He collaborated with his interior designer, Lynda Murray, and Chad Oppenheim, the architect of the house, to make a home and a bathroom that is embodied by the Miami culture; the trees, the beach and the sky.

They completely ripped out everything in the bathroom. Turning it into a tranquil space that features a large scale cast-concrete tub and etched-stone tiles along the wall, separating two spa-inspired shower areas.

5 Nicolas Cage

The always charismatic and uncanny Academy Award winner is one of the highest paid celebrities. Cage has 15 homes to his name, including a castle in England, a 24,000 square-foot home in Rhode Island, two multi-million dollar mansions in New Orleans and a $17.5 million palace in Bel Air. But in his Las Vegas home is a bathroom that this Ghost Rider could ride his Harley around in. Surrounding lavish marble, the tub sits central giving the room perfect symmetry to walk around before hopping in.

4 Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi

Ellen and her wife, Portia put their Beverly Hills estate on the market in 2011 for a whopping $49 million. Now, who can pay for the 2.87 acre compound, which is equivalent to a street block you ask? Well it was a man of 1000 jobs, Ryan Seacrest, in 2012, paid just short of the asking price. Inside the luxurious estate is a master bathtub that the busy tv/radio host probably enjoys to soak in.

Made out of marble, the tub sits in front of a large window, looking onto the garden. The feel of the bathroom is very zen.

Ellen originally bought the home for $29 million from co-creator of  Will & Grace, Max Mutchnick.

3 Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick

The couple, who recently celebrated 17 years together, spend most of their off-screen time in their Manhattan townhouse, with their three children. But when they want to escape town, they flee to one of their other properties, their home near Kilcar, a village in County Donegal, Ireland, where Broderick spent much of his youth. Since Ireland is a few hundred miles away, the couple bought a house in The Hamptons, with a bathroom that might give you the blues.

The Victorian house was decorated by an old friend of Parker's, and the duo made it their mission to give the home comforting, light colors. Their bathroom has a blue and white scheme, with decorative butterflies and beadboard paneling. The bathroom has a classic feel to it, using steel waste bins and a metal cabinet on wheels.

2 Anderson Cooper

The sleek CNN anchor placed his Manhattan bachelor pad on the market in 2012, with an asking price of $3.75 million. Reports suggest that the reason for selling his pad was because he wanted to spend more time in his converted firehouse turned loft in the West Village, that he purchased in 2010. The vacant estate has a lavatory that matches the effortless smoothness of Cooper. The warm-toned wood flooring in the shower and modern aesthetic lines, keep the space looking clean and neat.

1 Jenny Craig

The weight loss guru sold her extravagant estate to her daughter, Michelle, and son-in-law Duayne Weinger, for $6.1 million in 2012. The mansion in Rancho, Santa Fe is a 10,000 square-foot estate listed at $9 million, but Mama Craig might have given the couple a bit of a bargain. The property includes a fully equipped gym, tennis courts, a spa and an exquisite master bath. The textured walls give it a royal feel, with the high ceiling and the Italian Renaissance paintings hanging above the fireplace, you'll feel like you're in a classic period piece.
