Scheduled to release in early January of 2017, Underworld: Blood Wars is Foerster’s first feature film as director. She is also the first female director in the five-part series of films. This is a direct sequel to the original sequel Underworld: Anthology.

In this film, the human race becomes aware of the Lycan and Vampire races igniting the biggest war the world has ever seen. Selene (Beckinsale) unites the ever battling supernatural races in order to keep them all alive. Via nukethefridge

Denzel Washington is going to return to star in the sequel of the instant classic neo-noir action thriller The Equalizer, a film which is based on the television crime series from the ‘80s. Washington’s pairing with director Antoine Fuqua will be their fourth movie together, the most recent production being The Magnificent Seven. Aside from the original Equalizer they also made the Denzel classic Training Day in 2011.

Right now, not a lot of information is available to the public about the plot or other members of the movie’s cast. The production team hopes to have the picture ready for Labor Day 2017 but fans don’t believe that they’ll be able to make this happen. What is for sure about this film is that it will be made depending on Denzel Washington’s schedule and the script is already finished. Other than that we’re just going to wait and see what this dynamic duo has in store for this sequel.

Unlike the last film on the list with an unknown release date, this heavily anticipated third film in the popular reboot is now in post-production. The follow up to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will premiere July 14, 2017, and is directed by Matt Reeves. Starring Woody Harrelson, Andy Serkis, and Steve Zahn, War picks up where Dawn left off. Judy Greer has also signed on to continue her role as Cecilia, mate of Ape leader Caeser. In the last Apes movie we watched Caesar, Serkis, avoid war at all costs but we saw him fail. Now we will watch as this leader is thrust into a world that he never wanted to experience, a place of war and despair. Not much plot has been given to us fans but we’re quite excited to see what this all-star cast is going to deliver to the silver screen.

The eighth film in the Fast and the Furious soundtrack will be the second after Tokyo Drift to exist without Paul Walker and the first since his untimely demise. Although they used CGI to finish the last film with Walker it is no longer in the stars for the Furious franchise, we have seen the end of his character. Word of the movie first spun when Vin Diesel announced the film on Jimmy Kimmel Live! also letting us know that it will take place in New York City. Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray will be filming the next installment in Iceland, Cuba, Atlanta and even Cleveland.

Familiar faces Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson will return along with Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Scott Eastwood. As of now, the release date is April 14, 2017 and the team plans on moving the plots from a heist series to a spy caper series. Producer Neal Moritz is excited to explore these rich characters in Fast 8 and possibly even a ninth movie.

11 Wonder Woman

Via screenrant

The reboot of this feminist classic stars Gal Gadot as Amazon warrior princess Diana Prince. Gadot was featured as Wonder Woman in the 2016 DC blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In this DC installment, we go back 100 years to when Wonder Woman first sets out for Earth from the sheltered island where she was raised to be a savage warrior. An American pilot lands on her small island and tells the princess of a world war that is devastating families. Like a true superhero, Diana Prince (or Wonder Woman) is drawn to help end the war and save the poor citizens in need.

Gal Gadot is joined by heavy hitters Chris Pine and Robin Wright in this epic action movie that has been in the making since 1996. The film concept was passed around until 2005 when Joss Whedon announced that he would be writing and directing the film adaptation. Sadly plans fell through, with the new director being Patty Jenkins and the script is written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns. Even without Whedon, we seriously can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

10 Alien: Covenant

Scheduled to be released in the late Summer of 2017, Alien: Covenant is the second story of the prequel series to the Sci-Fi classic Alien. It will make the 5th film in the Alien franchise and is a direct follow-up to Prometheus. Katherine Watterson and Michael Fassbender star in what is sure to be another box office blowout for these epics.

The movie begins as the team aboard the Covenant believe that they’ve discovered a new oasis but soon their hope changes. What they find is the devastating remnants of the ill-fated Prometheus expedition. As the characters continue to discover the darkness in the strange warped world that they’ve found, many of the origin questions that arose from Prometheus are answered. All we know for sure is that after all of these Alien movies, screenwriter Damon Lindelof is still keeping us on the edge of our seats.

9 Jumanji 2

Via melty

Despite much poor feedback from gossip columnists the production of Jumanji barrels on and Dwayne Johnson, producer and star of the film, promises it is neither a sequel or reboot but a continuation of the 1995 film classic of the same title. Rumors of the movie began in 2012 but the project was shopped around Hollywood for awhile until Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that they would release the film in late 2016. Many criticized this move since it was so soon after Robin Williams’ tragic suicide and the release date was pushed back yet again. The goal with the movie is to update the theme of the plot for our modern world.

We will watch as 4 kids in detention enter the game using avatars of their own creation. Aside from fan favorite Dwayne Johnson the star-studded cast also features Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart & Jack Black. We are excited to watch a childhood favorite on the big screen again, and I think we all want to see if the magic is still there without Robin Williams at the center of the Jumanji madness.

8 Untitled Blade Runner Sequel

Via independent

The cult action thriller Blade Runner was made in the early ‘80s starring dreamboat Harrison Ford. Ford is returning to the silver screen for the untitled sequel along with Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright. Also on board is famed British director Ridley Scott, the director of the 1982 neo-noir science fiction thriller. Talks of the long awaited sequel began in 1999.

When the prequel was first announced, fans of the original were immediately nervous that studio executives would take the magic out of the beloved classic. But these fears have been quelled as many of the minds behind the original Blade Runner have been added to the runner. The untitled sequel takes place a couple of decades after the last film and is once again set in Los Angeles but with a changed atmosphere. Check for this action thriller in theaters next Fall as the sequel should be released in October 2017.

7 Spiderman: Homecoming

Via mybuzz

Captain America: Civil War left us all wondering how Spider-Man was going to adjust to life back at high school in Queens, New York. We will watch a high school boy deal with the usual issues while also navigating how to save the city from a premature demise.

So far not much is known about this film aside from Sony scouring the Spidey series for which characters to bring into the prequel. Actor Tom Holland will play the teenaged superhero supported by Zendaya and Donald Glover. The young, hip cast will serve as the perfect Homecoming for the classic Marvel comic book star. Aside from this film, Holland has already signed on for 2 more in this prequel life. If Sony hopes to have the 15-year-old Peter Parker play out his story arc graduating in 2020 then this movie will probably only take place over the course of a couple of months or at the most a year.

6 Thor: Ragnarok

Via screenrant

Another 2017 action flick for Marvel, Thor: Ragnarok will serve as a sequel to both Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). The 17th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be released in IMAX around early November of 2017, just in time for Thanksgiving. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will both return to the film as Thor and Loki. Hemsworth has discussed an interest in having Thor and Bruce Banner interact more as he believes that this relationship may bring viewers a bit of a sidekick sort of feel.

One of the most exciting castings of this Marvel adventure is Jeff Goldblum playing the role of eccentric alien manipulator villain that enjoys playing with human life and has a taste for gambling. Goldblum was granted space to make the character his own from director Taika Waititi, which will only go well for us since Goldblum is the ultimate eccentric actor of our time. It seems the casting alone makes this film a must see.

5 Creed II

Via collider

After the immense success of predecessor Creed, we were sure that there would be a second installment to the Rocky reboot. Sylvester Stallone has spoken quite candidly about what could be in store for this anticipated sequel. Back in February of this year Stallone was interviewed with a somber tone that expressed Rocky might not have much more fight left in him, but by Summer everyone was singing a different tune.

Michael B. Jordan, playing lead Adonis Creed, let those in attendance at Comic-Con this year that once everyone’s schedule maintains that Creed II is happening. In an interview with entertainment magazine, Variety Stallone expressed that director Ryan Coogler was hoping to take this film back in time, bouncing from present to future. This means that Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) could return to this beloved movie franchise despite his death in Rocky IV in 1985. There is no release date on this film yet, only speculation. But we’re pretty stoked to see what these talented actors and director can do with the blossoming story line of Adonis Creed.

4 Ghost in the Shell

This movie derives from a widely beloved Japanese manga by Masamune Shirow and fans are both nervous and excited to see the story hit the box office. Main character The Major, a cybernetic human-bot with tons of implants that help lead Section 9 elite special ops unit. Scarlett Johansson was cast as The Major and fans were speculative if the whole project was now in the dumps. Director Rupert Sanders persisted despite American complaints about “white-washing” a Japanese film but in Japan everyone actually expected a white actress to be cast in the lead role.

As far as making the movie is concerned, production is wrapped and the film will be out in March of 2017 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX3D. Four teaser trailers have been released and each shows the intricate sets and costumes that could sway those fans back into seeing the action movie on opening day next Spring.

Via comingsoon

The sequel to this quick-witted, action packed film of 2015 is set to come out in June of 2017 and it’s surely going to be just as stylish and exciting as the first was. Taron Egerton returns as Eggsy, the sassy but talented Kingsman secret agent. In the movie, we will see the Kingsman headquarters attacked which inspires Eggsy and Merlin to get back together again to save the world.

What is really exciting about The Golden Circle is all of the acting talent that has signed on. Julianne Moore will play the villain and main target of Eggsy and his gang. Halle Berry and Channing Tatum are both cast as Kingsman secret agents alongside Egerton. Even Colin Firth has signed on to continue his role as Eggsy’s former mentor and fellow agent. New and familiar faces will sparkle on the screen in this must-see action film of 2017.

Via uk.news.yahoo.com

Rey, Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker will continue on their journey in this long-awaited continuation of one of the most epic sagas in movie history. John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill and Oscar Isaac will all be reprising their roles in Episode VIII and other big names have signed on to round out an all-star cast. J.J. Abrams has stepped down as director, but remains on as executive producer, instead, Looper director & Episode VIII writer Rian Johnson has taken the reigns. Disney still holds a complete secrecy policy when it comes to the plot so there isn’t much more information than this on what to expect from Episode VIII but there’s no way this Star Wars piece will be anything less than legendary.

1 Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2

Via ign

The original Guardians of the Galaxy blew up box offices and became an instant cinema treasure, which is why news of the second installment hitting theaters was highly anticipated. All of the original actors will return to continue their roles but Marvel Studio’s president Kevin Feige did let us know that Groot might not be the same as he was in the first film.
