11 Most Awkward Encounters Between Stars And Fans

Awkward Celebrity Fan Encounters

Seeing celebs in the movies, magazines, and on television makes them seem larger than life. We become so familiar with faces we've never actually met, that when we finally do, we forget that they're really no different from our ordinary selves - save for the multitude of millions to their name, luxury cars, and all that property they own, of course. Celebrity worship causes us to place familiar strangers on a holy pedestal of sorts. So much so that our expectations of them are above and beyond, and we ourselves act out of character when we happen upon them. Even though nobody takes Kanye seriously when he likens the rights of celebrities to that of civil rights, the maniac guy kind of has a point. Being a celebrity may come with perks, on perks, on perks, but it can also deny them of their basic human rights.

The poor little rich famous people are ceaselessly stalked by paparazzi, gossiped about in the tabloids, and given very little privacy in exchange for fortune and acclaim. It's easy to forget that just like you or I, celebrities aren't always in a friendly mood, but the smart ones usually act like they are during run-ins, in order to keep supporters happy. One thing's for sure, the world's biggest stars have the most entertaining stories to tell about some of the most interesting and awkward encounters imaginable. Below are 10 of them.

11 Demi Lovato

In an interview last month with New Zealand radio station ZM, Demi Lovato, famous for being candidly honest in her interviews, admitted that there have been several violating and uncomfortable encounters between herself and fans. Among the many, the Disney alum recounts a time when she visited her gynecologist, and at the end of the appointment, the doctor very unprofessionally requested an autograph for her daughter. Demi's internal reaction: "F*ck you, what the hell is wrong with you?" Another time, the singer went in for laser hair removal for her private parts, and was again asked for an autograph for a family member. Demi's priceless thoughts once more were, "Great well you can now tell them you've seen my vagina."

10 Jamie Foxx meets Teddy Riley

Before Jamie Foxx was the legendary comic and Oscar winning actor we know him as today, he got his start on the comedy sketch show In Living Color, back in 1991. At the time, the 24 year old rising star's ultimate dream was to be a musician. So when the opportunity presented itself one afternoon, Jamie rushed over to big time producer and innovator of the New Jack Swing era, Teddy Riley, when he appeared as a musical guest for the show. Jamie introduced himself as an aspiring musician and attempted to pass along his demo tape, but the only problem; he was still in his Wanda character. A wig, a dress, garish make-up, and 4" pumps. According to Jamie, Teddy gave the cross-dressed comedian the once over, and simply replied with, "impossible." Jamie, now a Grammy winner, would finally receive his start in music many years later, when he collaborated with an unknown producer at the time Kanye West, on his first single Slow Jams, which instantly shot to number 1.

9 Tom Felton

8 Kevin Spacey

A Kevin Spacey fan submitted his extremely uncomfortable encounter with the actor to defamer.gawker.com, detailing an incident that took place in the late 1990's at a day spa. The anonymous fan shares, "I was at Burke Williams Day Spa in Santa Monica. A few minutes later the door opened and a guy came in, wearing a hand towel draped over his head. He sat down on the smaller bench and I immediately saw it was Kevin Spacey. I was a fan of his, and hadn't heard anything about his sexual proclivities at the time. After a few minutes, he starts rubbing his crotch through his towel. He wasn't blatant about it, but it was easy to tell what he was doing. After he got his 'pup tent up', he started stretching his legs. This meant he 'accidentally' rubbed against my legs a couple of times, then apologized. I waved it off the first time, then grimace-smiled the next time as I'd pretty much had enough. The third and final time he decided to brush his leg against mine and then just leave it there. I looked over at him. He had his eyes closed but was rubbing his crotch again. I got up and left at that point." Kevin Spacey's sexuality has been in question for years now, and rumors that the actor is allegedly 'on the down low' are becoming more and more prevalent.

7 Kit Harrington

Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington, who plays the handsome Jon Snow on the show, shared a rather  awkward encounter with a fan during an interview with Pop Sugar. The actor recounts, "This girl came up to me in a bar a few weeks ago, and she said 'My God, My God, you look like Jon Snow,' and I'm like, 'I am,' and she goes, 'No, he's much taller than you.'" In the girl's defense, Kit, who is only 5'6", does look much taller than he actually is on camera.

6 Steven Yeun

Steven Yeun who plays Glenn on the hit television series The Walking Dead, recounts a time when a fan of the show who recognized him in Atlanta one day awkwardly demonstrated her recognition from a block away. According to Steven, "I don't know if this is creepy but I was embarrassed for her a little bit. She was so sweet, but I was walking down the street in Atlanta and she saw me from maybe like a block away, and she started zombie walking towards me. It was the greatest thing cause I could see her doing it and about half way through you can see in her face she's like, 'I regret this decision.' The best part is she comes up to me, and she just starts going, '[aarrrghh]- I'm so sorry,' it was great she was really sweet."

5 James Marsters

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star James Marsters, who played the mysterious and brooding 200 year old vampire Spike (long before Edward Cullen existed), shares a hilarious time when he went to England during season one of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and an elderly woman approached him with an inappropriate request. James shared, "I went to London and it was very early on, I think I'd only been on the show for half a year and I was at a convention. We were all hanging out and this old lady comes to me, 'My friend has a favor to ask you,' and I was like yea, sure, man, and the friend was even older, she's like, 'Turn round,' and I was like cool, then I hear the voice, 'bend over,' and I'm such an idiot I did it, and she grabbed my a**, and then I hear this word, 'now clench,' and then I just ran."

4 Robin Thicke Grabs Fan's a** In Mirror

During a photo op with a young fan, Robin Thicke didn't realize there was a mirror behind the two, secretly capturing a naughty move he thought he was getting away with. While the cameraman stood in front of the R&B singer and party goer, Lara Scolaro, the wide lens was able to capture the pair's reflection from behind them, where Robin can be seen grabbing the young woman's barely covered assets in a very short dress. The photo took place at a VMA after-party in 2013, the same night of his infamous performance with Wrecking Ball singer Miley Cyrus. The 20 year old blonde later told Celebuzz, "I knew his hand was on my butt. I posted it on Instagram and didn’t notice the reflection. But someone noticed it and commented." Robin addressed the photo in Star Magazine saying, “My only comment about the so-called scandalous photo would be that my wife are I are perfectly in love and very happily married. So, no complaints there." His wife Paula, filed for divorced just weeks afterwards.

3 Justin Bieber Boob Grab

There are way too many girls, grown and underage alike, who would consider this incident more of a dream come true than awkward. In an eyebrow raising photo, and 18 year old Justin Bieber is caught practically groping a fan's breast during a meet and greet in Miami, all while kissing her affectionately on the cheek. Justin's rep (sounding a bit annoyed) explained; "He was pulling away from her, it's ridiculous." But the extremely awkward photo speaks for itself. Shortly afterwards, Justin released a Tweet saying, "A lot of bs has been out there lately...seems like it never stops. answering for myself thru music... To everyone around the world. thanks for believing. I AM GRATEFUL." Though there's no video footage of the incident, the fan seems completely un-phased in the photo and is actually pictured smiling.

2 2.Will Smith Reporter Grab Kiss

One of the nicest guys in Hollywood, Will Smith was forced to physically defend himself against a Ukrainian reporter who tried making out with him at a Men In Black 3 premiere. As seen in the video clip above, Will warmly greets the reporter at first, typical for the ever cheerful actor, where upon the prankster quickly wraps his arm around Will's neck in an attempt to force a kiss on his mouth. Visibly annoyed Will says, "Whoaa, what the hell is your problem buddy?!" and backhands him across the face. The A-lister later appeared on Letterman explaining, "I go to give this joker a hug, and he leans in to try and kiss me ... it's just awkward Dave." Amused, the audience laughs and Will continues by saying, "They said, 'we're sorry it's just his schtick,' and I said 'yeah well that's why his a** got shtuck.'"

1 Miguel Jumps On Fan's Head

R&B singer Miguel made a total ass out of himself at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards during his performance of Adorn. An ill thought out plan to jump over the audience and across the stage resulted in him landing directly on two female fans' heads. Though the jump appeared to be spontaneous, it was reportedly pre-meditated during rehearsals and later revealed that Miguel was actually advised not to follow through with it. The hilarious memes were endless with social media users rearranging the lyrics to Adorn to read, "Let my legs adorn you." The video clip of the mishap is cringe-worthy but impossible not to laugh at. Especially after finding out that the poor fans were thankfully okay. Though the two could've made a killing off of an impromptu law suit against the careless singer, they decided against it, and instead, rather dangerously, accepted tickets to Miguel's next show.
