This article brings up the age old question: Why on earth do men cheat? And even more curious, what idiot would make the mistake of philandering behind the backs of these drop dead gorgeous women? Women commonly believe that all it takes to hold a man's attention is to be the most beautiful woman in the room, but all of the women on this list prove that theory dead wrong. As superficial as all men are, some of them have needs that extend deeper than just eye candy. And when they feel these needs aren't being met, however perfect you may seem, their eyes, hearts, minds, and other body parts will wander elsewhere. On top of their striking looks, these women are wealthy superstars that any man would feel absolutely lucky to call their own. So who in their right mind would step out on these lovely women? And most importantly, who could possibly be worth cheating with?
It kind of makes you stop to wonder if these outwardly gorgeous and seemingly flawless beings have some hideously grotesque unspeakable habit that they carefully keep from the world's view. Or maybe they just have an unfortunate attraction to douchebags. Sometimes it has nothing to do with the woman at all, and everything to do with the man being either unappreciative, addicted to sex, or just plain unhappy in a seemingly perfect union. Here are 11 really surprising cases of beautiful celebrity women who have been cheated on in the past.
When the beautiful Latin bombshell Eva Longoria and French basketball player Tony Parker, wed in 2007, the two seemed to genuinely be enjoying marital bliss. All seemed well from the outside as the love birds were frequently photographed together, Eva hardly missing a game even while juggling her busy Desperate Housewives schedule at the height of the show's popularity. When the actress discovered hundreds of intimate text messages between her husband and another woman, Eva admitted to questioning her sex appeal. She opened up on The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet saying, “It wasn’t about who he chose. I mean, I had moments of, ‘Am I not sexy enough? Am I not pretty enough? Am I not smart enough?' But in so many of those questions, I immediately stopped and said, ‘No, don’t start doing that.’ Because you can get stuck in that cycle.” Tony reportedly cheated with NBA player, Brent Barry's wife Erin Barry, who denies the allegations.
Actress Sandra Bullock's very public and very messy divorce couldn't have happened at a worse time. The movie star was in the middle of finalizing an adoption process, and welcoming home her first baby boy, Louis Bardo Bullock. In 2010, it had been revealed that Jesse James, her husband of 5 years, was unfaithful to her with multiple different women, one of whom was Kat Von D. Kat Von D who was eventually betrothed to Jesse, later admitted to having been cheated on by the serial cheater as well. When asked by thedailybeast.com why Jesse cheated on America's sweetheart Sandra Bullock, he answers, "I think it was several factors: ego, loneliness, distrust, which probably led to resentment. When you have a certain amount of shame and guilt in your life that spurs from other stuff, you can manufacture resentment in any situation; because I’m not getting the attention I need or the love that I need, when all I had to do was ask for it and she would give it to me. But just because I didn’t get it when I didn’t ask for it, I was like, 'Oh, she doesn’t love me.'"
In 2009, golf superstar Tiger Woods was infamously exposed as a philandering sex maniac when it was discovered that the married father of two had dozens of outspoken mistresses. His wife Elin Nordegren, had gone through his cell phone and discovered very revealing texts between he and other women, particularly a woman named Rachel Uchitel, who texted Tiger saying "You are the only one I've loved." Reportedly, Elin had only grown suspicious thanks to a National Enquirer article that published that Tiger was allegedly having an affair with a woman named Rachel Uchitel. Elin reportedly texted Rachel back pretending to be Tiger and saying "I miss you, when are we seeing each other again?" Things quickly took an ugly turn when Elin decided to call Rachel, accusingly, and Rachel hung up in shock. Tiger was apparently chased out of the house by his wife with a golf club. Still groggy from sleep, the athlete famously crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree while trying to make his escape. When police arrived, Tiger was found unconscious lying in the street with the two back windows smashed out of his car, Elin's handy work no doubt.
Unlike Jesse James, Brad Pitt was never really vilified for breaking ex-wife Jennifer Aniston's heart, back in 2004, by having an affair with his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie. Now married with 6 kids over a decade later (already), Brad and Angelina are actually regarded as Hollywood royalty. In a candid interview with Harpar's Bazaar last year, Jennifer admitted that she's forgiven Brad for his transgressions, and that their incompatible relationship helped her better love herself, as well as prepared her for new husband, Justin Theroux. Brad famously told tabloids that he felt his marriage to Jennifer was "wasting his life away," as the actor was always under the influence of drugs at the time. In the same interview, Brad gushes about his life since moving on from Jen. "I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big. I wanted there to be chaos in the house … there’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging. I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they’re gone. I hate it.
The gorgeous and talented country icon Shania Twain, was devastated when she discovered that her husband of 20 years and her married best friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud, were having an affair behind her back. Shania married her famed and reclusive producer Mutt Lange, in 1997. The two created most of Shania's best selling hits together. Many, if not all, of Shania's deepest heart felt love songs are about Mutt. The singer was reportedly so shattered by the heartbreaking betrayal that she feared she would never sing again. In a random twist of fate, Shania ended up marrying her best friend's ex-husband in 2011, Frederic Thiebaud, who was also victimized by the infidelity.
Before Victoria Beckham and David Beckham were known as Posh and Becks, Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant were Britain's "it" couple of the 90's. The former power couple were married for a total of 13 years, but 8 years in, Hugh was infamously arrested along side Divine Brown, for "misdemeanour lewd conduct in a public place," or in other words, Divine was caught giving Hugh Grant oral sex. In spite of the scandal, Elizabeth chose to publicly forgive her husband and stand by him. In an interview with Barbara Walters 20 years ago, she said that she first heard the news from her agent, who called seconds before Hugh. She's quoted as saying, "I felt like I’d been shot. I ran out. I think I was–I think I was in shock."She also told Barbara that even though she was "miserable as sin," she still accompanied Hugh to his movie premiere at the time, Nine Months. The dysfunctional marriage lasted a surprising 5 more years before the pair decided to call it quits.
Actress Sophia Bush and actor Chad Michael Murray, met on the set of One Tree Hill in 2003, and were married 2 years later for just 5 short months. According to reports, Chad cheated on Sophia with none other than Paris Hilton. Awkwardly, after the split, the exes were contractually obligated to continue working together on One Tree Hill, for at least another 5 years. When Andy Cohen asked Sophia how difficult this was, she answered, "At the end of the day we're grown ups, and I actually think what's interesting about it is that when people split in a way that's unpleasant, they usually just go on quite literally hating each other—or the person in my situation hates the other person, whatever—but when you have to work with somebody for another half a decade, you kind of have to deal with it. Because for me, at the end of the day, my job is my priority. And so I think at the end of it, it really let me just let go of it."
To this day, 10 years after their divorce, many of us still can't figure out what a beauty queen like Denise Richards ever saw in Charlie Sheen. In 2006, the pair were trying hard to work things out over a 10 month period, and went on vacation to Barbados sometime in December, where Charlie was allegedly caught kissing another woman on the beach. Upon the shocking discovery, Denise was reportedly prompted to get tested for every sexually transmitted disease possible, including HIV. The incident in Barbados was the last straw from Denise, and she quickly filed for divorce. Interestingly nearly a decade later, Charlie wanted desperately to patch things up with Denise, after comparing her mothering skills to that of his next wife's Brooke Mueller, who suffers from drug addiction, and like Denise, also bore two kids for Charlie. I guess that's what it takes before you realize you let a good one get away, Charlie.
If singer Eric Benet hadn't been an abusive, sex obsessed, cheating, low down man, he'd probably still be married to one of the hottest women Hollywood, Halle Berry. The pair were married for 4 years throughout which Eric admittedly cheated on Halle several times. In no time at all, just months into the marriage, things reportedly got rocky between the two. Just two and a half years into the marriage, it was revealed that Eric was struggling with a sex addiction. Through it all, Halle devotedly supported her husband, and by the 3rd year of their marriage, they had celebrated his one year anniversary of living clean from his sex addiction. Although, Eric's progress was short lived, and finally by 2005, Halle had enough of Eric's antics after multiple relapses.
In 2009, the world was absolutely dismayed to see images of a bruised and battered Rihanna plastered all over news outlets for weeks. The shock only amplified when it was revealed that the battery was performed by her boyfriend of 2 years, fellow superstar, Chris Brown. The incident reportedly took place on a vehicle while on their way back home from a pre-grammy party. In the vehicle, Rihanna was going through the R&B singer's phone and accusing him of infidelity when things took a turn for the worse and Chris viciously attacked her. It was later revealed that Chris was cheating with his much older former manager Tina Davis, with whom he'd had affairs on and off since she started working for him when he was only 16. Rihanna received a ton of flak from the public when she decided to rekindle their relationship briefly, back in 2011. Thankfully the dysfunctional pair didn't last, calling it quits for good just months later.
According to Supermodel Christie Brinkley's ex husband, Peter Cook, it was her fault that he cheated on her because she wasn't meeting his needs at home. He doesn't go on to specify those needs (thank god) but he tells Barbara Walters in an interview in 2008, that Christie simply wasn't giving him the attention he craved. Gee, well there's a little thing called communication for issues like that. You know, an option you can try just before infidelity? In his own words, Peter told Barbara, "I was seeking a connection I could not find in my own marriage. I think the emotional aspect of our lives had changed. I think we were both feeling more like we were living with a brother and sister than a life partner. I wanted a little acknowledgement, a little attention, a little thank you every now and then for my efforts, for the amount of time I took to care for her and my family, for the wealth I was building." This was Christies 4th failed marriage, which lasted for 12 rocky years.
