The world, regardless of the ugliness that takes place in it, is truly a beautiful place. To me, one of the greatest and most enriching experiences in life is being able to travel and see the uniqueness of our planet.
For many people, a beach is a place that brings joy to them. Beaches are a place where you can relax and reconnect with yourself, your loved ones and even with nature. There is something extremely therapeutic about spending some time near the waves and that is something I know a lot of you agree with.
One thing we all love is a beach. It is such a thrill being able to sit, swim and tan somewhere that is breathtaking. From Asia to Europe and even North America, there are so many stunning beaches to explore which is why we wanted to narrow it down to the top 25.
So here it is folks, the 25 nicest beaches in the world. Use this as a travel guide and as a bucket list because trust me when I tell you, each of these locations is even more phenomenal in person.
At the end of the day, remember this- travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.
25 Blue Lagoon - Turkey
Blue Lagoon Beach, located in the merging of the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas is one of the most spectacular beaches on the planet. Fethiye is the nearest town about 10 miles from Blue Lagoon.
This beach is a national marine sanctuary, which means you will not find any resorts here.
Diving at Blue Lagoon is an incredible experience. There are fascinating caves and a ton of marine life that are very visible.
This is definitely a beach that everyone should check out at least one time in their life.
24 The Baths - British Virgin Islands
The British Virgin Island’s is home to some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, including The Baths. The mystery of the beach is that no one knows how the garden of smooth granite boulders ended up on the shores of Virgin Gorda.
This makes for the perfect place for pirates to hide and with that being said I am convinced that there are hidden treasures somewhere and I would totally love to be the one to find it.
One of the coolest parts about this beach is the secluded grottos. These grottos make for the best pictures because there is sun peeking through the rocks which create something that is visually impeccable.
23 Navagio - Greece
It is no secret that Greece is a country that has pretty much the most breathtaking beaches on the planet. Navagio beach, which is located on the Island of Zakynthos is a gorgeous crescent beach which you could only get to by boat.
The beach is surrounded on three sides by dramatic cliffs and tourists from around the globe travel to see the beauty that is Navagio.
The coolest thing about this beach is that right in the middle of it lies a freighter that was rumored to be smuggling wine and other contraband in the 80’s. This is why the beach has two nicknames: Shipwreck Beach and Smuggler’s Cove.
22 Grace Bay - Turks and Caicos
Turks and Caicos are known for having some of the most beautiful waters in the world. The water has a special light aqua color that is specific to the Turks.
Grace Bay is an iconic stretch of aqua water and white sand. My recommendation is to rent a sailboat and explore the beauty from all angles.
The Coral Gardens is a small snorkeling trail at Grace Bay that is home to so much marine life, making it one of the best diving experiences in the world.
21 Makena - Hawaii
Hawaii is a breathtaking location and Makena beach is at the top of my list of reasons why. The salmon-orange sand that is seen during sunsets create a ridiculous array of colors along with the blue water and red sky, which is truly breath-taking.
Before going to visit, you should know that there are two beaches at this location. There is Big Beach and Little Beach and for those of you wondering which one to go to, perhaps this bit of information will help you out: Little Beach is clothing optional.
20 Tofino - British Columbia
When you think of Canada, you do not think of beaches, which is why Tafino Beach is so special.
Tofino is known for its surfing and crystal clear waters. The white sandy beaches make this surf town in British Columbia one of the most stunning places you will ever see.
For me, the coolest part about this beach is that Bears enjoy soaking all the beauty in as well. Just be sure to take some pictures but do not get to close!
19 Treasure Bay - Jamaica
Jamaica is one of those travel destinations that has something for everyone.
Treasure Bay is a six-mile-long coastline that is divided up into a number of coves, four of which are open to the public. This beach is known for its amazing swimming and snorkeling as well as its untouched rocky shorelines.
This beach is not a big tourist stop and the locals tend to be more on the artistic side; writers and artists who create an inviting and impressive cultural experience.
18 Tikehau Island - Tahiti
One of life’s greatest dilemmas is figuring out if you want to go to a white sand or a pink sand beach. Well, if you pick Tikehau Island as your vacation destination, you will get both.
This stunning beach legitimately looks like a painting. This small island has pristine shores and bright blue waters which make for incredible scuba diving and snorkeling.
Jacque Cousteau’s research group asserts that this spot contains the highest concentration of fish in the world, which is why the scuba diving and snorkeling is so remarkable.
17 Dreamland Beach - Bali
With a name like Dreamland Beach, it is no secret that this beach is like a dream. The once-hidden cove located in Bali, on the Bukit peninsula that was discovered around 1970. Since then, it has become a notable destination for surfers due to its amazing shore breaks.
Dreamland Beach has gained a lot of popularity throughout the past 40 years and there are a ton of new resorts along the beach.
It still retains its chill vibe with beach shack cafes and small shops. It is definitely somewhere you should check out if you are ever lucky enough to be in Bali.
16 7 Mile Beach - Cayman Island
7 Mile Beach is located in the beautiful Cayman Islands and it is truly one of the most stunning beaches on the planet.
7 Mile Beach is the kind of beach that has something for everyone. There are amazing restaurants, beautiful hotels, jet skis and volleyball games. There is also amazing snorkeling with rocky formations making it a perfect place to observe sea life.
The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is known to be the best and most desired hotel to visit on the beach.
15 Trunk Bay - St John
Trunk Bay in St-John is without a doubt one of the most photographed beaches in all of the Caribbean and even the world.
Trunk Bay is located on the Northwestern corner of the Virgin Islands National Park. Its clear and calm waters in combination with its 225-yard long underwater trail make it perfect for snorkeling.
If you ever visit this beach, you can hike up the beautiful greenery filled trails surrounded by historic ruins of sugar cane plantations.
14 Cala Deia - Spain
Spain is one of those destinations that is on almost everyone’s bucket list. Cala Deia located in Mallorca is one of the most unique beaches you could find.
Cliffs surround the sapphire water and although there are gorgeous villas built into the cliffs it still gives off a feeling of serenity. This beach is a little piece of heaven here on earth.
The best spot in the area are the two seafood restaurants that allow you to enjoy the freshest seafood while eating pretty much on top of the water.
13 Hidden Beach - Mexico
Hidden Beach, located in Puerto Vallarta can only be described as perfect. Although the beach is no longer as “hidden” as it once was, it is one of the most spectacular places to see.
Hidden Beach, is rumored to have been formed by the Mexican military to test bombs in the early 1900’s.
What is so cool about this beach you ask? There is a water tunnel that visitors must pass through in order to get there, which to me sounds pretty cool.
12 Anse Source D’Argent - Seychelles
Seychelles is known to house some pretty remarkable beaches and it is safe to say that Anse Source D’Argent is at the top of that list.
Located in La Digue in the Republic of Seychelles this beach is complete with towering cliffs and pink sands. The undeniable beauty of the beach is why it has become one of the most photographed beaches on the planet.
This beach is one of the last places on the planet where you can find the rare black paradise flycatcher bird. There are only about 100 left in the world so being able to see that is truly an experience you will never forget.
11 Piha Beach - New Zealand
Auckland is a city that is not known for its beaches, however, 25 miles North of the city is home to Lion Rock. Lion Rock is a huge 16 million-year-old stone that is found on both the Auckland stamps and phone books.
This magnificent beach is surrounded by green hills that line the shore combined with streams running out and into the Tasman Sea.
For those of you curious about this beach, Piha is known for its black sands, which were formed by volcanic minerals. The harsh breaks are what makes it one of the best surfing zones in the Pacific.
So surf lovers, this destination is for you.
10 Ora Beach - Indonesia
Ora Beach, which is located in Maluku Indonesia is the most inspiring and special beach in Indonesia. The stretch of sand is not large, however, the setting of the emerald ocean flowing through jungle islands is the stuff dreams are made of.
The best part about this beach is that it has yet to be hyped up which means tourists have not completely invaded this area.
Fun fact: this beach is called the Maldives of Indonesia because it is somewhere that you can rent a romantic tiki hut in the middle of the water, making your patio your own private beach.
9 Maya Bay - Thailand
Thailand is on pretty much everyone’s bucket list and the reason for that is because it is home to incredible beaches, kind people, good food, and phenomenal hotels.
When booking a trip to Thailand, the options are endless which is why I would like to guide you a little.
Remember the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio? Well, that movie was filmed in Ko Phi Phi in Maya Bay. This beach has some of the most amazing views and it is known to be one of the beach cities that is the cheapest to live in.
The only problem with going to visit Maya Bay is that the chances of you never coming back are a little higher than the average destination.
8 El Castillo - Mexico
Currently, Tulum is one of the hottest vacation destinations in the world and the reason is simple - it is beautiful there.
El Castillo beach is located in Tulum. The Mayan ruins make for a unique and interesting background and its white sand is accented with stunning clear waters and brightly colored fishing boats.
The coolest things you can do over there is climbing the pyramids, swimming in cenotes, eating fish tacos and kite surfing. Basically, you are never going to want to leave.
7 Reduit Beach - St. Lucia
St. Lucia is known to be one of those destinations that you instantly fall in love with and I can see why.
Reduit Beach is located in St Lucia and is approximately ten minutes south of Pigeon Island National Park. Which gives beautiful views of the beach.
Regardless of what it is you are looking to do, Reduit Beach has it all. From great restaurants in walking distance to water activities and beautiful views, this is one place you should check out ASAP.
6 Santa Giulia - Corsica
Corsica is without a doubt one of my favorite travel destinations and Santa Giulia beach is one of the reasons why. Santa Giulia is a spectacular large lagoon-type beach. It has unbelievable turquoise water and white, soft sand.
This is a beach that is sure to take your breath away. It is paradise on earth and somewhere I highly recommend visiting. Santa Giulia is also a perfect beach for those who love water adventures.
Trust me when I tell you it is one of those places that pictures do not do justice of- lying on Santa Giulia beach is what dreams are made of.
5 Baia do Sancho - Brazil
This beach is without a doubt one of the most incredible beaches anywhere in the world.
Located in Brazil, its turquoise waters and coral reefs are known to be very secluded and very hard to get to. You need to go down a dirt road, climb some busted ladders and steep stairs (you get the picture). This is what makes it even more special.
Baia do Sancho is a must for divers and snorkelers. Its impressive reefs and abundance of sea creatures make for an incredible day.
4 Siesta Key - Florida
When it comes to the US, there are actually a lot of impressive beaches. However, Siesta Key is at the top of my list.
Located on the Gulf Coast, Siesta Key is one of those beaches that you just can't help but fall in love with. Its calm waters and soft sand shoreline in combination with the breathtaking sunsets makes this a must visit for everyone.
If you are not sold yet, maybe this will help: Siesta Key is known for its dolphin spotting. You may even see a manatee is you kayak far enough!
3 Prai de Marinha - Portugal
Portugal is a beautiful country with something for everyone. It is a nation with good food, good people, and even better beaches.
Prai de Marinha is decorated with turquoise water and swim through arches, which stand as the iconic symbol of the beach. You can take a boat ride and explore the caves and grottos, which are sure to have you freaking out over their beauty.
Marinha is one of many beaches in Portugal, however, this beach is considered the most beautiful in the country so it is worth checking out.
2 Lake McKenzie - Australia
Lake McKenzie is located on Fraser Island in Australia. This all-silica beach is on a crystal clear, freshwater lake, which is considered one of the cleanest in the world. There is also no salt water so your eyes can remain unharmed!
Fraser Island is one of the largest sand islands in the world. It features an ancient rainforest and it is truly the definition of the word breathtaking.
Also, a little bonus for animal lovers- Dingo sightings will happen and I think that’s the coolest thing ever.
1 Rabbit Beach - Italy
Besides pizza, pasta, and fashion, Italy has some other things to offer, like gorgeous beaches for example.
Rabbit Beach is located in Lampedusa Italy and it is beyond stunning. Rabbit beach is a secluded nature reserve that can only be accessed by boat. Rabbit Beach (which does not have rabbits running around) is considered one of the most impeccable beaches on planet earth.
One of the most spectacular things about the beach is that there are dolphins frolicking in the water, which is pretty epic.
