15 Must-See Photos Of The Hottest DC Comics Actresses

If we are just being completely honest, it's Marvel Comics that have dominated the box office and critical acclaim in comparison to DC. Sure, DC has Batman and the latest Superman wasn't awful, but that is nothing in comparison to the juggernaut that the MCU has become over the last decade.

They're hoping that can change soon, and what better way than to try and up the sex-appeal with Suicide Squad? While the movie isn't doing great with critics, it is clear that both Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne are absolutely gorgeous, and based on the title of this list, that's probably what you're more interested in.

Below we're got 15 of the sexiest women to ever suit up for DC. We've got some former great performances, but also one movie that made an actress say "I want to thank Warner Bros. for casting me in this piece-of-sh--, god-awful movie." Yikes!

You'll also learn little tidbits from their roles, such as why Alicia Silverstone needed so many of her Batgirl scenes to be cut, who turned down a Batman movie to star in a movie with Queen Latifah, and the complaints that were thrown Gal Gadot's way when she was first cast as Wonder Woman.

The Marvel movies may be more popular, but is there any movie universe out there with more attractive women? Well, ok, Marvel has some pretty stunning actresses too, so check out our list of 15 Must-See Photos of the Hottest Marvel Actresses as well.

15 Cara Delevingne

Via redonline.co.uk

After getting a look at just one of the photos, something tells me you may be trying to track down a copy of the 2016 September issue of Esquire which features the incredibly gorgeous Cara Delevingne. In the magazine, Delevingne also opened up about her past battles with depression and her disdain on taking prescription medication to help cope with it, saying "That week [that I went off meds], I lost my virginity, I got into fights, I cried, I laughed. It was the best thing in the world to feel things again. And I get depressed still, but I would rather learn to figure it out myself than be dependent on meds, ever. I hate meds. I don’t agree with them. It’s so easy to abuse them.”

Delevigne is 23 years old now and is firmly starting to put her foot in the acting world. When talking about her past modeling career that helped get her name out there, Delevingne said "Modelling is not something I love. It always felt like a job, it was never a passion. It was more like a part I played.”

We can only hope that doesn't mean she won't be doing more photo shoots like this in the future!

While her DC adventure with Suicide Squad has received poor reviews to start, Delevingne was quick to fire back at the critics on August 4th, saying "The critics have been absolutely horrific. They’re really, really horrible. You know, I just don’t think they like superhero movies, it doesn’t really matter what the critics say at the end of the day, it’s the fans that we made this movie for.”

14 Halle Berry

Via vidigy

Do you think the above photo of Halle Berry is gorgeous? You wouldn't be the only one, in fact, one man who probably really agrees with you is Cliff Watts who was the famous photographer behind the photo shoot. In the past, Watts has done shoots for Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and even Jeremy Renner.

Berry may be his favorite past model, especially when you learn that it was not long ago that the two were seen getting cozy around town. While nothing is confirmed, it didn't stop paparazzi from assuming that Berry may be moving on from her past divorce and into the arms of Watts, who clearly catches all of her best angles.

Berry's performance of Catwoman back in 2004 was far from successful. Not only did it fail to make its budget back (grossing $82 million, on a budget of $100 million), but the film received awards for Worst Director, Worst Picture, Worst Actress and Worst Screenplay at The Razzie Awards (opposite of Academy Awards).

When accepting her Razzie, Berry took the podium saying "I want to thank Warner Bros. for casting me in this piece-of-sh--, god-awful movie...I'd like to thank the rest of the cast, to give a really bad performance like mine, you need to have really bad actors."

At least Berry was confident enough in herself to go and accept the award!

13 Katie Holmes

Via thesun.co.uk

Let's hope you didn't really love Katie Holmes' portrayal of Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins because she was re-cast in favor of Maggie Gyllenhaal for the sequel. Holmes allegedly turned down the role in the sequel to instead star in Mad Money with Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton.

Katie Holmes may also be known as the ex-wife of Tom Cruise, but you better believe he's missing her at least a little bit more now that these photos are starting to surface. They were originally taken back in 2012 for the jewellery brand H.Stern. Because when you look at that photo, what you're really focusing on is her ring and those earrings, right?

The photos were taken under the artistic direction of Roberto Stern, who at the time said "She's beautiful, stylish, has great taste and sincere integrity. Of course, Katie is also the ideal choice because she represents our target group in general. Young, successful and ambitious."

The photos are now starting to make their way back to the internet because H.Stern is opening up a new boutique store in London.

12 Maggie Gyllenhaal

Via skynetblogs

Above you learned about Katie Holmes, so why not take some time to learn more about the actress who replaced her as Rachel Dawes? Maggie may not be as famous as her brother Jake, but you have to admit she probably looks a lot better in the above outfit! The photo was part of a promotional set for the lingerie company Agent Provocateur, which hired her back in 2007 to replace Kate Moss.

When talking about the decision to hire Gyllenhaal, the co-founder of the company Serena Rees said, "Maggie is not an obvious sex symbol. She is interesting looking, confident and beautiful in a way that's non-threatening, All which makes her appealing to men and women alike."

Kylie Minogue has also modeled for the lingerie company in the past. Gyllenhaal has currently wrapped filming on a new television series, The Deuce, that is set to come out in 2017. The series also stars James Franco and will be set in the 1970s/1980s in New York City when porn and prostitution were very apparent in society.

11 Gal Gadot

Via superheronews.com

When Gal Gadot first got cast as Wonder Woman, not many fans knew what to expect from her. Outside of appearing in some of the Fast and Furious movies, Gadot is still getting her feet wet in the industry. But you need to admit, getting cast as the Amazon warrior is probably a pretty good place to start.

The trailer for the upcoming movie has already been viewed 22 million times, proving the hype is very much there for the movie that is set to be released on June 2nd, 2017.

Gadot underwent an intense diet and training schedule, putting on 17 pounds of muscle for the role. When talking about what to expect, Gadot said "We go back 100 years to when she's more naive, she's this young idealist. She's pure. Very different to the experienced, super-confident, grown-up woman you've seen."

Gadot is clearly gorgeous, but that doesn't mean she was exempt from criticism. After receiving the role of Wonder Woman, many fans took to the internet to complain, saying her breasts were too small for the role. Gadot clearly knows how to take things in stride, saying "The true amazons had one boob so it won’t bother them in their archery. So it’s not going to be like real amazons. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t."

As the above photo from Glamour shows, Gadot is gorgeous, regardless of the haters!

10 Amy Adams

Via celebritymafia

There are not many men out there who can stand next to Amy Adams and be the better looking of the two. But when she had to take a bath with Henry Cavill for Batman V Superman, Adams said she was the one who was flustered. She explained she was "Trying to protect my modesty while this demigod stood above me. I had this low self-esteem for two weeks after that, It's true. I was like, 'I am hideous'," but something tells me that's probably not what Cavill was thinking!

While you could understand that Adams may be a bit intimidated by the bulky heavy lifting that her co-stars did to prepare for the role, she opened up in an interview saying "Lois is still sort of like the key to the information, you know? She’s the girl going out and getting it and figuring it out and putting it together," and it will be hard to argue that Lois will not be a crucial part of the future films, as Adams is currently filming Part 1 of the Justice League film.

9 Melissa Benoist

Via hottestgirl.tumblr

Now the above photo may not be the most revealing, but you gotta admit, Melissa Benoist is still a pretty Supergirl! Benoist was cast as the lead in the Supergirl series which is being moved from CBS to The CW. In doing so, fans are hoping that they're going to start seeing more cross-over episodes with the other DC series Arrow, The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow. If the Marvel movies are any indication, fans can definitely get behind some fun cameo appearances!

When talking about what she was hoping would come from the 2nd season, Benoist said "Next season I really want to keep seeing her grow as a woman. Not necessarily in relationships or romance, but really just her independence and…obviously, I want to see her kick some butt. Cool villains."

We are sure Benoist is not the only person out there that would be a fan of seeing her throw some fisticuffs on a regular basis! Benoist was sadly one of the biggest names to have her naked photos be released in the Apple iCloud scandal back in 2014.

8 Anne Hathaway

Via hnr

If you had any doubts that Anne Hathaway would be able to seduce Bruce Wayne, the above photo from GQ from 2014 should dispel any doubt. Hathaway was a great version of Catwoman, especially if you compare her to the awful rendition that Halle Berry's team put together. When talking about ever potentially doing a standalone film, Hathaway expressed disinterest saying that the mystery of Selina Kyle's backstory is part of what makes the character so unique.

That doesn't mean that she's completely thrown away her cat ears though. In an interview from this past year, Hathaway said "I would be totally up for doing it. If Chris [Nolan] was involved. For me, the thing that made doing that part particularly fun was that she existed in his Gotham. Without him I don’t think it would be the same thing."

Definitely not hard to argue with Hathaway for wanting to stick close to the incredibly talented Christopher Nolan. Sadly, it looks like his time (and hers) is probably done with the Dark Knight.

Nolan is currently writing and directing the film Dunkirk which stars Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy. The movie is set in WW2 and centers around allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain, and France who are surrounded by the German Army.

7 Marion Cotillard

Via gerardsantos.com

Speaking of World War 2, next on our list is the incredibly sexy star Marion Cotillard. Cotillard is currently wrapping up filming on her next movie Allied that is also set during WW2 (1942 to be exact) and stars Brad Pitt. Cotillard marries Pitt, sounds lovely right? At least until Pitt is told that Cotillard is probably a Nazi spy.

After her role as Miranda (or Talia al Ghul) in The Dark Knight Rises, perhaps Pitt knows not to trust her! You can imagine Christopher Nolan was ecstatic to get Cotillard to come on board, especially after she had shown the world how amazing of an actress she can be with roles like La Vie en Rose, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress.

The above photos were taken by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott back in 2010 for Vogue Paris. Considering Cotillard was born (and currently lives) in Paris, France, you can imagine she loved to pose for the Paris version of the magazine.

6 Nicole Kidman

Via fanpop

Nicole Kidman may not have had any cool bat-gadgets when she appeared in Batman Forever, but she was sexy enough to woo the Dark Knight, so I mean that has to get her some serious points right? Kidman played Dr. Chase Meridian, who sadly eventually ends up getting captured by Two-Face. Such is the life of being the love interest of Batman! Thankfully Batman was able to save the day, but you can imagine it was still a pretty stressful situation, good think she was a psychologist! The movie also starred Tommy Lee Jones, Jim Carrey, and Val Kilmer and earned $336.5 million at the box office.

Despite the huge success of the film, that doesn't mean Kidman doesn't have regrets. When talking about the role, Kidman said "I remember going, ‘I wish had more of a role, though.’ It’s great being the girl in the Batman movie…. But I’m an actor and you go, ‘Gosh I want more to do.’ So I would still love to do some sort of superhero movie where I get to do the cool stuff."

Let's hope Kidman is okay with living vicariously through other beautiful babes on this list like Gal Gadot!

5 Uma Thurman

Via blogspot

The fact that Uma Thurman played Poison Ivy may make it all the more fitting that the above photo was taken for a perfume company. Thurman's character may have needed to use pheromones to seduce her victims, but in real life, we imagine she also has a much easier time.

In 2009, Uma Thurman was chosen to be one of the faces of Parfums Givenchy and was given her own unique campaign and scent, joining Liv Tyler as the other celebrity spokesperson for the company.

While Poison Ivy has not made an appearance back to the big screen since Thurman donned the character for Batman & Robin in 1997, Thurman said that if they were to cast anyone in the role, that she'd like to see it go to Scarlett Johansson.

Sadly I think Johansson is a little too busy kicking butt in the MCU, but she'd definitely be an amazing poison ivy as well.

4 Michelle Pfeiffer

Via theplace2.com

You know you're an absolutely gorgeous person when you can sit on a wooden stool and still make the photo look so amazing! Michelle Pfeiffer is definitely not a recent addition to the DC Universe, getting her crack at it back in 1992 with the movie Batman Returns. The movie saw Michael Keaton as Batman and Danny DeVito as The Penguin.

Pfieffer was cast as the incredibly sexy and alluring Selina Kyle, perhaps better known as Catwoman. Which means that as if you didn't already find Pfieffer attractive, you get to now imagine her in a leather outfit with some type of whip! The movie earned $266 million at the box office, proving that the world didn't mind taking a look at Pfieffer either.

Pfieffer has stepped out of the spotlight as of late, but now 58 years old, Pfeiffer seems ready for a comeback in a major way. She is currently filming an untitled film by Darren Aronofsky who has recently been responsible for the outstanding films Requiem For A Dream and Black Swan. The movie will also star Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, which should make you all the more confident that Pfieffer is going to nail her role.

3 Margot Robbie

Via imgur

Let's be honest here, when you first saw the title of this list, your mind went to Margot Robbie. And why wouldn't it? Robbie is appearing on countless talk shows right now to promote her upcoming role as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. The film may not be off to great ratings, but there is little doubt that Robbie did looked amazing in her rendition of the character.

When Robbie was first asked about taking on the character back in January 2015, Robbie said "I guess it's intimidating because there's obviously a lot of people I want to please, and a character I have to do justice, but it's a challenge, I'm definitely up for it, and hopefully I don't disappoint."

Even if you didn't care for Suicide Squad, you also know she looks outstanding when not trying to wreak havoc on the world. Such as in the above photo, which was taken by Vogue, who smartly put Margot Robbie on their cover for the June 2016 edition. Or perhaps you were stunned by her performance in The Wolf Of Wall Street, which caused her co-star Jared Leto to say "She took a role that other people would have had a very difficult time with and elevated it to something spectacular."

We can only hope he had similar things to think about her performance as Quinn.

2 Alicia Silverstone

Via ouchpress

When Alicia Silverstone was first cast as Batgirl in Batman & Robin, fans were hoping she'd be able to translate some of the talent that made her a hit in the movie Clueless. Sadly, that charm was left long behind on the cutting room floor and Silverstone actually won a Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress for her performance.

It was already bad, but it could have been so much worse when you consider a bunch of Silverstone's scenes had to be cut after the actress gained weight throughout the filming, and it would have ruined the continuity to keep them in.

Director Joel Schumacher was quick to defend Silverstone, saying "It was horrible. I thought it was very cruel. She was a teenager who gained a few pounds -- like all of us do at certain times. I would confront female journalists and I'd say, 'With so many young people suffering from anorexia and bulimia, why are you crucifying this girl?'"

Silverstone's original costume was also going to take much more advantage of her chest region, with the Bat symbol being formed out of her cleavage. Sadly, the suit did not fly with the executive heads. And yet the Bat Nipples did?

1 Amber Heard

Via skynetblogs

Amber Heard was sadly in the tabloids for some sad news earlier this year when she had a very public falling out with her then-husband Johnny Depp who she said physically abused her.

Thankfully, she's got plenty to focus on right now as she is currently filming the first rendition of the Justice League movie. Heard is taking on the role of Mera, the love interest of Aquaman who is being played by Jason Momoa. While we have not seen her in costume quite yet, earlier this year Heard described it to an interviewer saying, "It’s interesting. It’s like, half suit of armor, half scales. It’s strange… We’re in the process of building it now, so it’s coming along," but something tells us we can pretty much guarantee that Heard will be looking amazing.

Perhaps it's this photo from Maxim magazine, taken back in 2008 that helped convince producers that Heard belonged in the water!
