Dawood Ibrahim, a prominent figure in the criminal underworld, is the Indian leader of the infamous organized crime syndicate, D-Company, with an estimated net worth of $6.7 billion as of 2023.

Ibrahim, who was committing fraud and theft during his early teens, founded D-Company in Mumbai alongside his brother after they left a local gang they were a part of. After his brother was killed during a conflict with a rival gang, he became the sole owner of the syndicate.

From there, D-Company would branch out into countless legal and illegal activities, including extortion, real estate, and trafficking of illegal substances. After being accused of murder, Ibrahim fled India to Dubai, where he stayed for several years before fleeing again to Karachi in Pakistan, the city he's currently suspected of residing in.

His leaving Dubai came as a result of being named the prime suspect and mastermind behind the 1993 Bombay Bombings, which saw him labeled a global terrorist by the American and Indian governments in 2003.

Ibrahim, who has a reward of $25 million on his head and is currently the third most wanted criminal in the world, stands as the second-richest criminal to ever live.

There are some reports that Ibrahim's company was getting revenues from the Bollywood film industry, real estate, and betting businesses.
