Lincoln Chafee is an American politician which has an estimated net worth of $32 million in 2015, according to Forbes.

Lincoln Chafee studied in several schools including Providence Country Day School, and Philips Academy. In college, he attended Brown University and joined the wrestling team. Also, he went to a horseshoeing school at Montana State University and worked for seven years as a farmer at harness racetracks.

He was elected as one of the delegates to the Rhode Island Constitutional Convention in 1985. A year later, Chafee won the seat for Warwick City Council and was re-elected in 1988. He was the mayor of Warwick in 1992 and was re-elected in 1992, 1996, and 1998.

When his father, John Chafee died on October 1999, Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Almond appointed the younger Chafee to serve the term left by his father. During his tenure as a senator, he served for the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

He took a political hiatus from 2007 to 2009. Chafee left the Republican Party and change his affiliation to Independent in 2008. He declared his intention to run as Governor of Rhode Island in 2010. A year later, he moved to the Democratic Party and attended the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2012. He formally declared his presidential candidacy on June 3, 2015.
