American professor and economist Austan Dean Goolsbee has an estimated net worth of $5 million in 2012. Considered as the youngest cabinet member in Barack Obama's administration, Austan Goolsbee has previously served as the Chairman of  Council of Economic Advisers.

From 2004 through 2011, Austan Goolsbee served for the administration of Obama. He supported Obama on the latter's senate race in 2004, and he became the senior economic policy adviser during Barack Obama's Presidential Campaign in 2008. In 2011, he officially announced his intention of leaving his post to return to the University of Chicago as a professor.

Austan Dean Golsbee was born on August 18, 1969  in Waco, Texas. After attending Milton Academy, he went to Yale University where he finished his economics degree as summa cum laude. He also got his M.A. in economics from Yale University. In 1995, he finished his Ph.D. in economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Since November 1997, Austan Deen Golsbee has been married to Robin Winters. The couple has two sons and one daughter.
