Chinese real estate magnate Zhang Xin has an estimated net worth of 3.5 billion as of May 2015 according to Forbes. She currently serves as the chief executive officer of SOHO China. The company is considered as Beijing China's largest commercial real estate developer. Since September 2012, she has been serving as the chairwoman of the board of directors of Teach for China.

Zhang Xin

Zhang Xin was born on August 24, 1965 in Beijing, China. She is an alumnus of the University of Sussex and the University of Cambridge. She is currently married to Pan Shiyi. Xin has two children.

Right after graduation, she was immediately hired by Hong Kong's Barings Plc. Eventually, she started working for Goldman Sachs and was later hired by an investment bank in New York. Along with her husband, Pan Shiyi, she founded Hongshi which was later renamed to SOHO.

In 2004, Zhang Xin became a recipient of the Montblanc Arts Patronage Award. Three years later, she was selected by the Wall Street Journal as one of the "Ten Women to Watch in Asia". A year later, she was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the "World's Most Powerful Women". Her named was also included on the list of "Top 50 Women in World Business" by Financial Times, as well as Forbes Magazine's list of "Top Ten Billionaire Women We Admire".
