Since 1991, Elena Baturina is married to Yury Luzhkov who currently served as Moscow's Mayor from 1992-2010. She has two children named Elena and Olga. She is a graduate of State University of Management in Moscow.

It was in 1991 when she founded the company Inteco which initially started as a plastic business but later evolved into construction. When her husband started serving as Mayor of Moscow, Inteco grew rapidly. Through the years, Elena Baturina's net worth is said to have declined.
