Currently worth $7 million, Dr. Mehmet Oz is a cardiothoracic surgeon, TV personality, host and author who receives an annual salary of $4 million in 2012.

In 2001, Dr. Oz was hired by Columbia University as a professor at the Department of Surgery. He then served as the director of New York-Presbyterian Hospital's Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program. He has authored over 400 medical books, and research papers, some of which were patented. Among his bestselling masterpieces include  You: The Owner’s Manual, Healing from the Heart, You: The Smart Patient, You: Staying Young, You: On a Diet, and You: Being Beautiful. 

Of Turkish ancestry,  Dr. Mehmet Oz  had his first TV appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show  in 2004. Later on, he began appearing on shows like Larry King Live, Charlie Rose , The View, Today, and Good Morning America. It was in 2009 when The Dr. Oz Show was launched. The TV show focused on personal health and medical issues.

Dr. Oz also serves as the Chairman and founder of HealthCorps. It is a non-profit organization that gives stipends to recent college graduates in exchange for spending two years of their lives teaching high school students about fitness, health and nutrition.

Together with Jeffrey T. Arnold, the founder of WebMD, Dr. Oz co-founded ShareCare Inc., an interactive platform that enables health and medical experts to answer questions related to their profession.

In 2008, he ranked 44th on Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People in 2008" list. Esquire also named him as one of "75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century". He was once listed by New York Magazine as one of the Best Doctors of the Year. The World Economic Forum named him as the Global Leader of Tomorrow while 02138 magazine listed him as one of “The Harvard 100 Most Influential Alumni”.

Dr. Mehmet Oz was born on June 11, 1960 in Cleveland Ohio. He is married to Lisa Oz and they have 4 children together named Daphne, Arabella Sezen, Zoe Yasemin, and Oliver Mustafa.
