WA Baxter, the Scottish food group, turned in £6.7m profit on £129m sales in 2009-10. The Fochabers firm has been run since 2000 by Audrey Baxter, daughter of Gordon Baxter, who with his wife, Ena, spent five decades transforming a small family concern into one of Scotland’s best-known brands.

After having a successful early career as a Merchant Banker in London, she was able to return to the family business in the year 1988. She eventually became the company's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman in the year 2000.

After more than a hundred years since its inception, Baxter became a global company that operates in North America, South Africa, Australia, and Eastern Europe. The business had a turnover of $22.39 million when Audrey joined the business in the year 1990. Since she became the company's Chief Executive Officer, the business grew by more than 50% with a turnover of $193.62 million. Audrey is the Baxter family's fourth generation to run and expand the business into new markets. She is passionate about the quality of all the products that Baxter's growing number of factories produce. Her family currently has an estimated net worth of $113.3 million.
