Jack Brown (Bookmaker), based in Pontypridd, was founded in 1928. The founder’s grandson, Andrew Brown, 51, ran the operation, which extended to 141 betting shops, and jointly owned it with his sister, Jones, 56, until 2005, when they sold it to Ladbrokes for £76m in cash. Brown is now building up his property interests in South Wales.
