Ziyad Manasir owns Stroygazconsulting, construction firm which has been in close relation with Gazprom, a state-owned producer of gas in Russia. In 2012, the company was reported to earn an annual sales of more than $11 billion.

Ziyad Manasir was born in Jordan but moved to Russia as an exchange student. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry. He is currently married and has five children. While studying, he started selling and buying cars and computers. Eventually, he began trading oil, timber, and oil phosphorus products. It was in the mid-90's when he purchased the construction company in Tyumen and began developing residential areas for the workers of Gazprom.
