Chinese businessman Zhu Gongshan has an estimated net worth of $3.2 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes. Today, Gonshan is considered as the richest person in China in the solar energy business. He owns GCL-Poly Energy Holdings, which is considered as one of the largest suppliers of polysilicon and silicon wafers in the world. Due to poor European demand and implementation of U.S. anti-dumping duties, the company expected a full-year loss in 2012.

This 55-year old businessman is currently married and has two children. He currently serves as one of the Chairmen of China Photovoltaic Industry Alliance. He is also a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Jiangsu Province.
