He has been involved in the manufacturing, importation, wholesaling and retailing of textiles, apparel and general merchandise.
Solomon Lew took control of his father’s small retail business in 1964 when he was 18, and turned it into an empire. It now owns several of Australia’s largest fashion chains in other retail groups. He has also served as the Chairman of The Just Group, and is the largest shareholder in Premier, Century Plaza Investments Pty. Ltd. He was a director of Coles Myer Ltd. and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
