Australian businessman Solomon Lew is the Chairman of Premier Investments, and has an estimated net worth of $1.11 billion in May 2016 according to Forbes. He was previously listed is the 19th richest person in Australia’s 50 Richest and is ranked 1175th on the World's Billionaires List.

Born in Toorak, Melbourne, Australia on March 22, 1945, Mr. Lew earned his estimated net worth of $1.2 billion through his more than 40 years of experience in the retail industry. He has been involved in the manufacturing, importation, wholesaling and retailing of textiles, apparel and general merchandise.

Solomon Lew took control of his father’s small retail business in 1964 when he was 18, and turned it into an empire. It now owns several of Australia’s largest fashion chains in other retail groups. He has also served as the Chairman of The Just Group, and is the largest shareholder in Premier, Century Plaza Investments Pty. Ltd. He was a director of Coles Myer Ltd. and the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Lew is a fierce opponent of the sales-tax exemption on Internet purchases that allows overseas competitors to sell their goods to Australians tax free. Along with his wife Rosie, he supports Opera Australia.
