Sant Singh Chatwal is a Sikh Indian-American hotelier who has an estimated net worth of $10 million. He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Hampshire Hotels & Resorts, LLC which owns hotels in the United States, the United Kingdom and Thailand. It operates its properties in Manhattan with a total of 2,500 rooms and plans to open a five-star hotel in Times Square. Currently, he also plans to expand his chain of high-end hotels in India in order to take advantage of a shortage of world-class accommodations in the country.

Mr. Chatwal is also the owner of the Bombay Palace chain of restaurants and the Trustee of the William J. Clinton Foundation. On January 26, 2010, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan by President Pratibha Patil. This led to a public controversy based on allegations of malfeasance levelled against him but the Government of India has since upheld its award decision.
