He is the 29th richest person in Russia and the 353rd in the list of World Billionaires. He is then considered the richest ethnic Armenian in the world, which the title was formerly held by Armenian-American businessman Kirk Kerkorian.

Mr. Karapetyan has earned his estimated net worth of $3.8 billion as the owner and the head of the real estate firm, Tashir Group. It owns 24 shopping centers, seven officer centers, and seven hotels. It has operations in 25 regions of Russia but has switched its focus on launching new projects in the Moscow area.
