Roger Goodell is an American commissioner of National Football League who has an estimated net worth of $75 million.
Before he became the head of NFL, Roger Goodell was a three-sport star in football, basketball, and baseball at Bronxville High School. He was named as the athlete of the year and captained all three teams.
In 1982, he worked as an administrative intern at NFL. A year later, Goddell moved to New York Jets as an intern, but returned to the league’s office as an assistant for the public relations department in 1984.
Three years later, he was appointment as assistant to the American Football Conference’s president, Lamar Hunt. Goddell assumed as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the league in December 2001. With his extensive role managing the league expansion, and other duties regarding NFL, it led him to become the commissioner on September 1, 2006.
Goddell’s leadership in the league was plagued with several criticisms including the creation of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy which a lot of players sanctioned with the said rule, as well a how he handled the Ray Rice’s controversial domestic violence incident in 2014.
