Robert Tisch is an American businessman which has an estimated net worth of $3.9 billion as of 2005.

He started in the real estate industry then he bought a hotel in New Jersey in 1946. Tisch leased hotels in Atlantic City. He later owned NYC's Drake, Belmont Plaza, Regency. In 1959, he took control of Loews Theatres.

He became member of the board for Bulova Watch, CNA Financial Corporation, Hasbro and Rite Aid.

Robert Tisch appointed as Postmaster General of the United States Postal Service from 1986 to 1988. Afterwards, he bought half-stake in the New York Giants football team from Wellington Mara's nephew, Tim in 1991.

Tisch and his brother, Laurence founded the multi-billion dollar business empire, Loewe Corporation wherein Bob became the chairman of the said company.

Aside from managing his business empire, he gave his time and donates to his alma maters by doing philanthropy, and some of them named the school after him such as Tisch Hall located in University of Michigan, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and NYU Medical Center's Tisch Hospital , among others.

Preston Robert Tisch was born on April 29, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York. Tisch finished his degree in economics at University of Michigan in 1948. He is married to Joan Hyman and has three children. He battled brain cancer and died on November 15, 2005 in New York.
