American businessman Peyton Yates has an estimated net worth of $760 million and is the richest person in Mexico. He has earned his net worth when he began his career at Chevron Oil Company as a petroleum engineer. In the early 70's, he joined the family business, Yates Companies. He later became the President of Yates Drilling Company as well as the Executive Vice President of Yates Petroleum Corporation where he is also the Chairman of its Council Trust Committee.

Aside from Yates Companies, Mr. Yates serves on the board of several banks, colleges, and energy coalitions. He also serves as the Chairman of the Management Committee of Artesia MainStreet. He is a Member of Advisory Board at New Mexico Community Capital, LLC.
