Omid Kordestani is an Iranian-American businessman who has an estimated net worth of $1.9 billion. Born Omid R. Kordestani in Tehran, Iran, he moved to San Jose, California and graduated with an electrical engineering degree from San Jose State University.

Mr. Kordestani began accumulating his net worth of $1.9 billion when he joined Hewlett Packard as an electrical engineer. Seven years after, he earned his MBA at Stanford Business School. He has been working in the high-technology consumer and enterprise industry since then.

Omid Kordestani has held several key positions at Netscape Communications or Netscape, a U.S. computer services company best known for its web browser, Netscape Navigator. He served as Google’s senior vice president of worldwide sales and field operations until April 26, 1999.
