Nikita Anatolyevich Mishin has earned his estimated net worth of $1.35 billion with N-Trans Group, a railway and port operator. It was co-founded by Mishin, Konstantin Nikolaev and Andrei Filatov in 1996 as Severstaltrans company. It was then renamed in 2008.

In the summer of 2011, the three founders of the group took public one of the biggest port operators in Russia, Global Ports Investments, for about $500 million. In October 2012, they sold a 37.5% stake in the company for $863 million to a subsidiary of the Danish shipping A.P. Moller-Maersk.

Nikita Mishin was a philosophy student at Moscow State University. He then joined Filatov and Nikolaev to found their first shipping company. Billionaire Alexei Mordashov was one of the investors in Severtaltrans but the partners bought his stake in 2007. In the fall of 2012, Mishin and Nikolaev sold their 13% stake in Transoil, another railway operator, to Gennady Timchenko, a close friend of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
