Chinese Indonesian businessman Martua Sitorus has an estimated net worth of $1.45 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes. He was once considered by Forbes as Indonesia's fourth wealthiest man, but his net worth was reported to have declined during the last quarter of 2012. Together with Kuok Khoon Hong, Martua Sitorus is known to be the co-founder of the world's largest palm oil industries, the Wilmar International.

Among Sitorus' businesses include oilseeds crushing, sugar milling and refining, oleochemicals, fertilizer manufacturing, grain processing, biodiesel, specialty fats, edible oils refining and oil palm cultivation. The company now has more than 300 manufacturing plants in the world and has an extensive distribution network in United States, Indonesia, China, India and fifty other countries.
