Lee Joong-Keun has an estimated net worth of $2.3 billion as of April 2016 according to Forbes. Currently, Joong-Keun is Korea's 14th wealthiest billionaire.

A self-made billionaire, Lee Joong-Keun was born in relative poverty and worked throughout his teenage years to afford college. After graduating from Korea University, Lee Joong-Keun began investing in commercial property. He built his fortune by starting an apartment construction company at a time when the South Korean government was heavily favoring rental properties.

In a rags to riches story, Lee Joong Keun lost his wealth in 1979 after declaring bankruptcy, but has since gone on to achieve great wealth and became a first time billionaire in 2012. However, his success was not without criminal trouble as Lee Joong-Keun served a three year prison sentence in 2004 for embezzling company funds. In addition to running his multiple companies, Lee Joong Keun launched an education business in 1991 that has been donating schools to impoverished countries like Laos and Cambodia.
