He is the third child among the four children of the late communications tycoon Roberto Marinho. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Editorial Board and vice president of Globo Organizations, Latin America’s largest media group. It began in Rio de Janeiro in 1925 when the newspaper was launched by their grandfather, Irineu Marinho, who died only 25 days after the first issue was published. The company was left to his oldest son, the late Roberto Marinho, who was responsible in building the conglomerate today.
