Igor Zyuzin is a Russian businessman who has an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion as of March 2013. He is the 56th richest person in Russia and is ranked 831st in the list of World Billionaires. Born Igor Vladimirovich Zyuzin on May 29, 1960 in Kimovsk, Tula Oblast, Russian SFSR, he was a graduate of Tula Polytechnic Institute. He began working in 1987 at the Raspadskaya mine but left in 1993 due to disagreements with the new management. In 1995, he and partner Vladimir Iorich formed the coal-trading company, Uglemetkooperatsiya, which was among the first to buy up shares in coal mines and pits in the Kuzbass region in Russia. In 2001, they bought a controlling stake in Chelyabinsk Metals Factory which formed the basis of Mechel Group.

Currently, it has more than 20 plants and coal mines around the world.

Igor Zyuzin has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mechel since March 2003. He has been the CEO and Director from December 2006. He returned to the position of Chairman of the Board in July 2010. During the first months of 2012, Mechel has lost $550 million with $9.1 billion in debt. In September 2012, it announced that it was selling its assets as well as its factories in Romania, a wire, nails, and wire mesh maker in Lithuania called Mechel Namunas, and the nickel producer Yuzhuralnickel.

Aside from Mechel, Zyuzin served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Southern Kuzbass Coal Company from May 1999. Between 1997 and 1999, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mezhdurechensk Coal Company which merged into Southern Kuzbass Coal Company.
