American businessman George Roberts has an estimated net worth of $5.14 billion as of March 2017, according to Bloomberg. He is known to be one of the founders of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts.

Prior to his professional career, George Roberts has attended Claremont McKenna College, University of California, Hastings College of the Law and Culver Military Academy where he was awarded as the Man Of The Year in 1998. In the late 1960's, he joined Bear Stearns  and by 1970's, he became an official partner of the firm. Together with Henry Kravis and Jerome Kohlberg, the trio made several successful leveraged buy out transactions. Among their first successful deals were the acquisition of Orkin Exterminating Company, Stern Metals, Incom, Cobblers Industries, Boren Clay, Eagle Motors, Barrows and Thompson Wire.

In 1976, the trio left Bear Sterns and formed Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. The Hillman Family was among their first investors. In 1989, the firm led the acquisition of RJR Nabisco for $25 billion. In July 2010, the company went public. In addition to KKR, George Roberts   founded REDF, a non-profit organization based in San Francisco which makes use of venture philanthropy in creating job opportunities. Currently, the firm assists more than 50 enterprises and hires over 6500 people, earning them a profit of $100 million.
