Friedrich Weyerhauser is a German-American timber mogul who had an inflation-adjusted estimated net worth of $80 billion.

Friedrich Weyerhauser move to the United States with his family in 1852. He started to work in a brewery, staying there for two years. He then worked on a farm for a year.

In 1856, Weyerhauser worked on the construction of the Rock Island and Peoria Railroad. Then, he entered the sawmill of Mead, Smith and Marsh as a night fireman.

He became a tallyman, and then a yard manager and salesman.He was the manager of a yard company in Coal Valley. When the firm began having financial difficulty, Weyerhauser bought the company.

He and his brother-in-law Frederick Denkmann formed the Weyerhaeuser-Denkmann Lumber Company.

In 1872, he established the Mississippi River Boom and Logging Co. Then, in 1900, he bought 900,000 acres of timber land in the Pacific Northwest and founded the Weyerhäuser Timber Company.

Friedrich Weyerhäuser was born on November 21, 1834 in Nieder-Saulheim, Rheinhessen, Germany. He married Sarah Elizabeth Bloedel, and had seven children. On April 4, 1914, he died in Pasadena, California.
