Not much has been said about the Wilk brothers on the web. But Forbes claimed that Farris, and his brother, Dan have an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, each. They were born to a mason father and later on, they both followed the steps of their father. They became professional masons, and in 1995, they founded Wilks Masonry. Today, the company's portfolio include lots of area high schools, OSU’s Boone Pickens Stadium, and Municipal buildings.

Less than a decade later after the founding of Wilks Masonry, the Wilks brothers joined the energy industry and by 2002, Frac Tech, a hydraulic fracturing and oil field services company was founded. They owned 68% of the firm's stakes and after almost a decade, they sold their combined shares to a sovereign wealth fund in Singapore, composed of several investors that is led by Temasek Holdings. Their combined shares were estimated to be worth $3.5 billion, and the brothers got $3.2 billion.
