A University of Minnesota graduate, Erman Ilicak acquired most of his net worth from his investments in the construction and energy industries. He currently works for Renaissance Construction CJSC as Director and President.

In 1994, Erman Ilicak founded Ronesans, a construction company based in St Petersburg, Russia. Through the years, the company has constructed several infrastructure projects in Middle East and Central Asia. He is also the owner of several offices, hotels and shopping malls in Russia. It was in 2012 when he collaborated with fellow billionaire Aydin Dogan to create more investments in Turkish real estate industry. Separately, he already owns 12 shopping malls in the country.
