Dinu Patriciu

It was in 1998 when Dinu Patricio led the purchase of the Rompetrol, a Romanian oil company. In 2007, he sold Rompetrol, which was then worth $8.6 billion, to Kazmunaigaz, a state-owned energy operator in Kazakhstan. Currently, Dinu Patricio owns the Adevarul Holding media trust.

In addition to Rompetrol, Dinu Patriciu also earns a great deal of profit from other industries like oil and gas restoration, retail and real estate. Despite his faltering efforts on retail, Dinu Patriciu is still committed to pursue his energy project where he was reported to spend as much as $1 billion to search for gas and black sea oil.
